MICHIGAN ADOPTION THERAPIST RESOURCE LISTComplied by the Post Adoption Subcommittee through the Adoption Oversight CommitteeAOC PURPOSE-The purpose of the Adoption Oversight Committee is to examine the state ofadoption and adoption services in Michigan, and make suggestions and action plans on how toimprove it. The Adoption Oversight Committee provides the Michigan Department of HumanServices with a long-term workgroup that represents a thorough cross section of partners in theadoption arena.ABOUT THE THERAPIST RESOURCE LIST-Our desire is to connect adoptive families with therapistswho are competent in adoption-related counseling and who understand the complex needs ofchildren and families touched by adoption. Please take the time to find a therapist that fits withyour family dynamics and who is able to answer any questions or concerns you may have.
