Dual Admission & Enrollment AgreementBetweenLorain County Community CollegeandUrsuline CollegeTHIS DUAL ADMISSION & ENROLLMENT AGREEMENT (the “Agreement”) isentered into as of this 23rd day of June, 2020 (the “Effective Date”) by and between LorainCounty Community College (“LCCC”), with an address at1005 N Abbe Rd, Elyria, OH 44035 , andUrsuline College (“UC”), with an address at 2550 Lander Road, Pepper Pike, OH 44124. LCCC is aninstitution of higher education established pursuant to Section 3354 of the Ohio Revised Code,and UC is established pursuant to Ohio nonprofit corporation law.BACKGROUNDLCCC and UC desire to enter into a contract clarifying the status and treatment of students whoare accepted into the Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) program at UC, whilesimultaneously pursuing their Associate of Applied Science Degree in Nursing (ADN) at LCCC(hereinafter referred to as the “Dual Admission and Enrollment Program”). The purpose of the DualAdmission and Enrollment Program established by this Agreement is to recruit and enroll students toLCCC and UC who desire to take courses toward their ADN in nursing at LCCC, while simultaneouslytaking courses toward their BSN in nursing at UC. While enrolled at LCCC, Dual Admission andEnrollment Program students will have access to many services and programs at UC that generally arenot available until a student matriculates to UC. Dual Admission and Enrollment Program studentsmay be eligible for special transfer scholarships at UC.ACCORDINGLY, in consideration of the foregoing and of the mutual covenants and promisescontained herein, and of other good and valuable consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of whichare hereby acknowledged, the parties agree as follows:A.Admission Requirements and ProcessesStudents may apply and be admitted to the Dual Admission and Enrollment Program inaccordance with the Articulation Criteria detailed in Attachment A. Students would begin theDual Admission and Enrollment Program after successful completion of the first year ofcoursework required for the ADN program at LCCC. The Dual Admission and EnrollmentProgram requires that students apply and be accepted by LCCC, and also by UC under eachschool’s admission requirements. This program is limited to LCCC students entering theADN program under Option 1: College Ready Option.1.To be admitted to UC under the Dual Admission and Enrollment Program, studentsmust meet UC’s Articulation Criteria as outlined in Attachment A.2.To be admitted to LCCC under the Dual Admission and Enrollment Program, studentsmust meet LCCC’s Articulation Criteria as outlined in Attachment A.3.When applying to the Dual Admission and Enrollment Program, students will berequired to sign a FERPA Release enabling both LCCC and UC to share studenteducation records between the two institutions, as may be necessary in the operation ofthe Dual Admission and Enrollment Program, and in a manner consistent with bothinstitutions’ information security requirements.

B.C.Dual Admission and Enrollment Program Enrollment1.To help ensure a seamless transfer, academic advisors from UC will work with LCCCcounseling faculty to conduct appointments at LCCC with Dual Admission &Enrollment Program students and candidates. All Dual Admission and EnrollmentProgram students will be counseled on how to complete their associate’s degree atLCCC, while simultaneously completing UC degree requirements. Dual Admission andEnrollment Program students should be reminded that some earned credits may not betransferable or capable of being applied towards completion of a bachelor’s degree atUC. Both institutions will provide continued counseling and advice to Dual Admissionand Enrollment Program students on how best to maximize the transferability of earnedcredits and the applicability of College credits to the BSN degree at UC. Whenapplicable, and in the student’s best interest, LCCC will accept UC courses to fulfill thestudent’s Associate Degree requirements.2.Dual Admission and Enrollment Program students will receive a UC Identification cardand a LCCC Identification card and shall be entitled to all facilities and services offeredto regularly admitted students at both LCCC and UC, including but are not limited to:access to UC and LCCC College libraries, Career Services, Recreation Centers,computer labs, sporting events, parking, e-mail and internet access. However, DualAdmission and Enrollment Program students are required to pay any fees associatedwith such services as prescribed by each institution’s fee structure.3.Students accepted into this program are eligible to enroll in appropriate RNBSN and UCAP courses available to post-licensure students at UC.4.Students accepted into this program will follow the Curriculum Map outlined inAttachment B.Program Administration1.Dual Admission and Enrollment Program students will be coded and tracked in theStudent Information Systems at both UC and LCCC.2.UC and LCCC will each assign a representative to serve as a liaison and assurecontinued communication between the institutions on matters related to thisAgreement. UC and LCCC representatives will formally review this Agreementannually and make adjustments where mutually agreed upon.3.UC and LCCC will hold an orientation for each student accepted into the DualAdmission and Enrollment Program. This orientation program will be required for allnew Dual Admission and Enrollment Program students prior to registering for theirclasses. The orientation program will assist Dual Admission and Enrollment Programstudents in understanding general education requirements and will acquaint studentswith services available to them at both institutions. It will also enable students to meetwith LCCC and UC counselors.4.Except as may be prohibited by law or UC policy, UC will send an annual report toLCCC on the progress of Dual Admission and Enrollment Program students after theirtransfer to UC. Except as may be prohibited by law or LCCC policy, LCCC will sendUC an annual report on the progress of LCCC Dual Admission and Enrollment Programstudents.5.Dual Admission and Enrollment Program students will not be assessed a transcriptrequest fee for transcripts issued for the administration of the Dual Admission andEnrollment Program.

D.E.F.6.Both LCCC and UC agree that any and all marketing strategies, activities andpublications for the Dual Admission and Enrollment Program will be mutuallyapproved by both institutions and before the strategies, activities and publications areimplemented.7.LCCC and UCC will work collaboratively on any revisions to the Curriculum Map.Student Conduct1.Dual Admission and Enrollment Program students will be subject to the policies andprocedures of LCCC when enrolled in LCCC courses/programs or when present atLCCC facilities. Dual Admission and Enrollment Program students will also be subjectto the policies and procedures of UC when enrolled in UC courses/programs or whenpresent at UC facilities.2.Except as may be prohibited by law or by an applicable policy of either institution, UCand LCCC will each use its best efforts to promptly notify the other of any financial,disciplinary, or academic actions that have been or are about to be taken against a DualAdmission and Enrollment Program student. LCCC or UC may take any of theseactions on its own, and the other party is not required to take similar action against aDual Admission and Enrollment Program student merely because such an action wastaken by the other party.3.Except as set forth explicitly in this Agreement, neither party will have any authority todirect the actions of the other party relating to any Dual Admission and EnrollmentProgram student.4.Either party may dismiss a student from the Dual Admission and Enrollment Programpursuant to the party’s own institutional policies and procedures. If a student isdismissed from the Dual Admission and Enrollment Program by a party to thisAgreement, the other party may choose to allow the student to continue her/his courseof study with the other party outside the parameters of this Agreement. The partydismissing the Dual Admission and Enrollment Program student shall have no furtherobligations under this Agreement to the other party with respect to the dismissedstudent.Financial Aid and Scholarships1.Subject to applicable laws and any applicable policies of each institution, Dual Admission andEnrollment Program students who wish to apply for financial aid during the first year shall applyto LCCC’s Financial Aid Office. Dual Admission and Enrollment Program students who wishto apply for financial aid in year two or thereafter shall apply to UC’s Financial Aid Office.2.LCCC and UC will enter into a Financial Aid Consortium Agreement.Term and Termination1.This Agreement shall be effective for a period of four (4) years beginning on EffectiveDate and shall automatically expire at the end of the last day of the Spring 2024academic term of LCCC or of UC (whichever comes later), unless earlier terminated asspecified below or otherwise extended in a writing signed by both parties.2.Either party may terminate this Agreement in the event of a material breach by the otherparty, effective thirty (30) days after a written description of the breach has beenprovided to the breaching party; provided that the breaching party shall have until saideffective date to cure said breach, and if the breach is so cured, the termination noticewill be of no effect.

G.3.Either party may terminate this Agreement at any time and for any or no reason,effective ninety (90) days after providing written notice of its intent to terminate to theother party.4.Upon expiration or termination of this Agreement for any or no reason, Dual Admissionand Enrollment Program students previously accepted by or admitted to eitherinstitution shall continue to receive the benefits contemplated by this Agreement. LCCCand UC shall continue to provide services until the last active student completes his/herdegree program, which should not exceed a period of four (4) years, or as otherwiseagreed to by the parties.Miscellaneous.1.Severability. If any Section or provision of this Agreement be heldillegal, unenforceable or in conflict with any law by a court of competentjurisdiction, such Section or provision of this Agreement shall be deemed severed fromthis Agreement and the validity of the remainder of this Agreement shall not be affectedthereby.2.Notices. All notices or other written communications required or permitted under thisAgreement shall be given in writing by courier or reputable overnight delivery services,or by certified mail, postage pre-paid, return receipt requested to either party at itsaddress first set forth below:For UC:Dr. Kathryn M. 3.Waivers and Amendments. The waiver by either party of any provision of thisAgreement on any occasion and upon any particular circumstance shall not operate asa waiver of such provision of this Agreement on any other occasion or upon any othercircumstance. This Agreement may be modified or amended only via a writing signedby both parties.4.Survival. Sections F(4) and this Section G shall survive expiration or termination ofthis Agreement for any e understanding of the parties with respectand supersedes all other agreements, understandings,of any kind, whether oral or written, between thesubject matter.6.Counterparts. This Agreement may be executed in multiple counterparts, all of whichshall be originals and which together shall constitute a single agreement.7.No Third Party Beneficiaries. This Agreement does not and is not intended to confer anyrights or remedies upon any party other than LCCC and UC.8.Facsimile Signatures. For the purpose of interpreting this Agreement, facsimile signaturesshall be considered equivalent to original signatures.9.Neutral Interpretation. This Agreement has been prepared for signature only after eachparty has had sufficient opportunities to negotiate changes. Each party has beenrepresented by its own lawyer, has had sufficient opportunities to consult with thatlawyer, and has done so. The parties agree that this Agreement should be understoodand interpreted as a document fully negotiated and accepted by the parties, and shouldnot be construed against the drafting party.10.Compliance with Laws. The parties will comply with all applicable laws and regulationsin performing their obligations hereunder. When taking actions (or failing to act) in anyway relating to this Agreement, each party agrees that it will not unlawfully discriminateagainst any person on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, age, ancestry,sex, pregnancy, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, disability, geneticinformation, military or veteran status, or any other basis prohibited by federal, state, orlocal laws. As a religiously sponsored organization, UC is exempt from certain aspectsof Title IX of the Education Amendments Act, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964,the Americans with Disabilities Act, and other federal, state, and local laws. Nothing inthis Agreement should be read or interpreted as a waiver of UC’s exemptions underthese or other federal, state or local laws.Agreementcontainstheto the subject matter hereofcommunications and promisesparties with respect to such

Attachment AArticulation Criteria and Articulation BenefitsA.The articulation criteria (“Articulation Criteria”) are:Students are eligible to participate in the Dual Admission and Enrollment Program under thisAgreement if they meet the requirements for admission to LCCC’s ADN program underOption 1: College Ready Option and meet UC’s admission criteria for its BSN program:1. LCCC – ADN Admission Requirements under Option 1: College Ready Option. Thisoption is for new first time in college applicants with strong academic preparation in highschool who intend to enroll full time in the nursing program. The program will becompleted in five semesters. Admission to the nursing program is conditional, based onstudent completion of all requirements. An overall high school GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale)Meets or exceeds Ohio’s college readiness standards prior to their initialenrollment into LakelandCompleted high school algebra, chemistry, and biology (within five years) with a“C” grade or higherAttend the Health Information Session offered by the Counseling Department2. UC – BSN Admission Requirements. An overall college GPA of 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale) Earn a grade of “C” or higher in all prerequisite science courses (anatomy &physiology, general chemistry, organic/biochemistry and microbiology) Earn passing grades (“C” or higher) in each required science course within the last7 years and in no more than two attempts. Send official Lakeland transcripts, and official transcripts from any otherinstitution(s) of higher education attended. Complete the Dual Enrollment form confirming plans to continue in the DualAdmission and Enrollment Program with Ursuline College.B.The articulation benefits (“Articulation Benefits”) are:1. Students in the Dual Admission and Enrollment Program are considered students of eachinstitution and are eligible to participate in and have all services available to current studentsof each institution.2. Dual Admission and Enrollment Program students enrolled in at least twelve (12) semestercredit hours for the semester, six (6) of which must be UC credit hours, will be eligible toapply for on-campus housing at UC. UC will determine, at its sole discretion, whether ornot to grant the on-campus housing request.3. UC’s admission fee for Dual Admission and Enrollment Program students will be waived.
