1SCHOOL HISTORYWorking for many years as a nursing consultant, developing curriculum anddesigning programs for many local schools, Dr. Williams decided to establishCuram College of Nursing “CCN”.Curam College of Nursing was inaugurated on July 9, 2009, at its presentlocation: 6520 44th Street Suite #312, Sacramento, California 95823.Initially, only two programs were offered at the college. The Nurse AssistantTraining and Home Health Aide Programs laid a solid foundation enabling thecollege to grow. In the latter part of 2010, CCN submitted a proposal to start aVocational Nursing Program with the Board of Vocational Nursing andPsychiatric Technicians “BVNPT”. The BVNPT granted CCN the approval toinitiate a Vocational Nursing Program commencing on July 5, 2011.In May 2012, the BVNPT granted CCN a four-year approval for the VocationalNursing Program, which spanned from May 30, 2012, through May 26, 2016. InMay 2016 Curam College of Nursing was granted another four-year approvalthrough May 31, 2020.Curam College was initially placed on Provisional Status by the BVNPT from May31, 2020, through November 16, 2021.The school is currently on Provisional Status for 6 months commencingNovember 16, 2021, through May 29, 2022.In June 2021, Curam College of Nursing was granted a five-year approval by theCalifornia Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education. All theory classes are held at thislocation and school consists of 4 classrooms, 2 skills labs, 1 computer lab, 5restrooms, 1 student kitchen/break room, 1 staff lounge, 6 staff offices, 3 storagerooms, 1 file room, 1 medical supply room, 6 staff offices, and 2 storage rooms.

Unless relieved of theobligation to do so, you must pay the state-imposed assessment for the STRF, orit must be paid on your behalf, if you are a student in an educational program,who is a California resident, or are enrolled in a residency program, and prepayall or part of your tuition. You are not eligible for protection from the STRF andyou are not required to pay the STRF assessment, if you are not a Californiaresident, or are not enrolled in a residency program.8.276215 (B)It is important that you keep copies of your enrollment agreement, financial aiddocuments, receipts, or any other information that documents the amount paidto the school. To be eligible for STRF, you must be a California resident or are enrolled in aresidency program, prepaid tuition, paid or deemed to have paid the STRFassessment, and suffered an economic loss as a result of any of the following:1.2.3.4.5.6.7.The institution, a location of the institution, or an educational programoffered by the institution was closed or discontinued, and you did notchoose to participate in a teach-out plan approved by the Bureau or did notcomplete a chosen teach-out plan approved by the Bureau.You were enrolled at an institution or a location of the institution within the120-day period before the closure of the institution or location of theinstitution, or were enrolled in an educational program within the 120-dayperiod before the program was discontinued.You were enrolled at an institution or a location of the institution more than120 days before the closure of the institution or location of the institution,in an educational program offered by the institution as to which the Bureaudetermined there was a significant decline in the quality or value of theprogram more than 120 days before closure.The institution has been ordered to pay a refund by the Bureau but hasfailed to do so.The institution has failed to pay or reimburse loan proceeds under a federalstudent loan program as required by law, or has failed to pay or reimburseproceeds received by the institution in excess of tuition and other costs.You have been awarded restitution, a refund, or other monetary award byan arbitrator or court, based on a violation of this chapter by an institutionor representative of an institution, but have been unable to collect theaward from the institution.You sought legal counsel that resulted in the cancellation of one or more ofyour student loans and have an invoice for services rendered and evidenceof the cancellation of the student loan or loans.a.To qualify for STRF reimbursement, the application must be receivedwithin four (4) years from the date of the action or event that madethe student eligible for recovery from STRF.b. A student whose loan is revived by a loan holder or debt collector aftera period of non-collection may, at any time, file a written applicationfor recovery from STRF for the debt that would have otherwise beeneligible for recovery. If it has been more than four (4) years since theaction or event that made the student eligible, the student must havefiled a written application for recovery within the original four (4)year period, unless the period has been extended by another act oflaw.However, no claim can be paid to any student without a social security numberor a taxpayer identification number.9Students who graduate from our Intravenous Therapy and Blood Withdrawalprogram are eligible to be certified by the California Board of Vocational Nursingand Psychiatric Technicians, no state examination is required for thiscertification.11ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCYCuram College of Nursing conducts all its programs in English and offers noEnglish Language Services. Students must be able to read and write at a Grade 12level.Students are expected to have completed Grade 12 in the US and met thegraduation requirements for English.Students who graduated from Grade 12 in a foreign country are required to havetheir transcripts evaluated to determine if they meet the US equivalent of Grade12 education including English Language and English Composition.Applicants for the Vocational Nursing Program shall write a P-NAT, HESI, Kaplan,TEAS admissions exam and achieve a minimum score as indicated below to beselected for enrollment.P-NAT (65% overall; average of (1) math, and (2) reading and languageaveraged), HESI (75%), Kaplan (Satisfactory), TEAS (Proficient)If a student does not have a command of the English language, we will refer themto an outside agency that provides English as a Second Language training.
