Special AwardsANNUAL CLUB PRIZESSSMTC RULES & REGULATIONSLOCAL WATERS1. INSHORE FISH:Striped Bass, Blues, Flounder, Fluke, Weakfish, Blackfish and Sea Bass caught in waters south ofLong Island bounded on the east by Mecox Bay and on the west by Deb’s Inlet.2. OFFSHORE FISH:Marlin, Swordfish, Tuna, Albacore, Bonita, Dolphin, Wahoo, Mako, Thresher, and Cod caught inthose waters reached by leaving from and returning through any inlet or port on Long Island.3. OTHER WATERSBass, Blues, Flounder, Fluke, Weakfish, Blackfish, and Sea Bass. The above fish caught outside of“Local Waters” on Long Island, on either a private or charter boat (Cod Fish only) leaving from andreturning to Long Island are eligible for annual awards (Seniors & Juniors) 1st Place only. Recordfish will be considered as “Other Waters” for club records.1.BOB ANTOLINI PERPETUAL TROPHY – “CAPTAIN of the YEAR”Determined by total accumulated points from all local eligible species weighed in.3 pts. For 1st, 2 pts. for 2nd, 1 pt. for 3rd and 1 pt. for 1st place Jrs.2.JOE FACCIBENE PERPETUAL TROPHY - “ANGLER of the YEAR”Determined by total accumulated points from all local eligible species weighed in.Seniors - 3 pts. For 1st, 2 pts. for 2nd, 1 pt. for 3rd / Juniors - 1 pt for 1st3.LENNY SIMONETTI PERPETUAL TROPHY "OUTSTANDING ANGLINGACHIEVEMENT " – Senior and Junior DivisionInshore, Offshore and Other Waters – at Board of Directors Discretion.4. FOR OFFSHORE FISH & OTHER WATERS (Local Fish): No other port or harbor off Long Island maybe visited or entered during the period between leaving & returning to Long Island.4. BOB GRAFFANINO PERPETUAL TROPHY – Largest tuna caught all waters.5. CONSERVATION INTEREST OF MEMBERS:All local, state and federal regulations must be adhered to.5. JOE KAICH PERPETUAL TROPHY – Largest Thresher Shark Caught.6. USE OF CHARTER BOAT:Fish, excluding cod fish, caught on a charter boat, or a boat operated by a temporarily employedprofessional captain, shall be ineligible in Local Water Contest (inshore and offshore).6. FRANK EGITTO PERPETUAL THROPHY – For Exceptional Billfish.7. SSMTC RESTRICTIONS: Private boats only. Only one prize in each category to one individual. All weigh-in slips marked Tuna – must be defined as Bluefin, Yellowfin, Big Eye or TrueAlbacore. Minimum weight –Tuna 30 lbs, Swordfish 100 lbs, Blue Fish and Mahi 5 lbs. unlessfederal regulations differ: then federal regulations take precedence.8. BILLFISH:Effective the 1994 Fishing Season; The SSMTC is a catch and release club. All Billfish “releases” willcount only for year-end awards. Proof must be by a photo showing the fish alongside the boat, inthe event of a tie, all prizes will be divided equally; the decision on acceptability is up to the Boardof Directors. Billfish club records will only be recognized for killed fish outside US waters.9. EXCEPTIONS:The SSMTC is an IGFA Member Club; all members must abide by all IGFA rules with the followingexceptions: Wire Line Spreader Bars Treble Hooks10. RADIO CONTACT:V.H.F. Radio – Channel 6911. ELIGIBLE CATCH: Unassisted catch on rod by a club member of good standing. Weigh slip must reach Contest Chairman in fourteen (14) days. Monthly fish contests – 1st, 2nd (Local Waters Only). Annual awards – 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 1st place juniors (Local Waters Only).7. PAT PANETTA PERPETUAL TROPHY – First Tuna of the Season.8. AL KAICH PERPETUAL TROPHY – Largest Mako Shark Caught.9. JACK BREITENBUCHER PERPETUAL TROPHY – Largest striped bass.10. PETER CURRERI ANNUAL “AHOY” AWARDAwarded by the board of directors to a member who has demonstrated someoutstanding ability or distinguished them self from other members.11. FLY-FISHING OUTSTANTING CATCH AWARDInshore, Offshore and Other Waters at the Board of Directions discretion
