LOUIS RIDDICKLouis Riddick, one of the most well-respected voices in the industry, was nameda “Monday Night Football” analyst in August 2020. The former pro scout anddirector of pro personnel who also played in the NFL originally joined ESPN inMay 2013 as an NFL front office insider.Riddick initially teamed with his current “MNF” booth mates, play-by-play voiceSteve Levy and analyst Brian Griese, on September 9, 2019, when they helped tokick off “MNF”’s 50th season and called the Denver Broncos/then-Oakland Raiders game for ESPN.Prior to joining the “MNF” booth, Riddick shared his insights on “MNF” halftimeand postgame shows alongside Suzy Kolber and Steve Young from 2018 to 2019.In 2019, he also joined Kolber, Young, Randy Moss, and Adam Schefter on the“Monday Night Countdown” main set and called college football games on Fridaynights alongside Dave Flemming and Paul Carcaterra.In addition to his role on “MNF,” Riddick also contributes to ESPN’s signatureNFL shows—“Sunday NFL Countdown,” “Monday Night Countdown,” and“NFL Live”—as well as to “SportsCenter” and ESPN Radio. He is a key contributor toESPN’s coverage of Super Bowl week; the NFL Scouting Combine; and the NFLDraft, where he has appeared on ESPN’s main set for the entirety of the eventsince 2016. Riddick made his NFL Draft television debut in 2015, when he joinedESPN’s main set for the first round. He also has covered the NFL Draft forESPN Radio.Riddick’s NFL front office experience spanned more than a decade with the nowWashington Commanders and Philadelphia Eagles. He started as a pro scout inWashington (2001-04) before being promoted to director of pro personnel, aposition he held for three years (2005-07). Riddick then joined the Eagles in 2008as a scout. He was named assistant director of pro personnel in 2009, and a yearlater, he was promoted to director of pro personnel (2010-13).A ninth-round draft choice of the San Francisco 49ers in 1991, Riddick playedseven NFL seasons at safety. His career included stints with the Atlanta Falcons(1992 and 1996), Cleveland Browns (1993-95), and Raiders (1998), totaling 172tackles and two sacks.A native of Quakertown, Pennsylvania, Riddick graduated from the Universityof Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Arts in economics. At Pitt, he was a four-yearletter winner, a two-time Academic All-American, and a team captain his seniorseason. As an alumnus, he was the keynote speaker at the Pitt Football KickoffLuncheon in August 2018.Riddick was a USA TODAY and Parade magazine All-American at Pennridge HighSchool as a prep senior.x
