SASGOG 10TH ANNUAL MEETINGSan Diego Convention Center May 5, 2022WelcomeINVITATIONI am delighted to welcome you to San Diego for the 2022 SASGOG 10th Annual Meeting! It’s so excitingto be back together in person after having to cancel our meeting in 2020 and meeting virtually in 2021.The meeting is a fantastic opportunity to reconnect with friends and colleagues from across the country,participate in learning opportunities for professional and personal growth, and build new relationships. Ourprogram committee, chaired by Dr. Makeba Williams, has developed an outstanding meeting based on thetheme, “Reunited and It Feels So Good: The SASGOG Reunion”.Tony Ogburn, MDWe are fortunate to have Dr. Jennifer Villavicencio, the ACOG Lead for Equity Transformation, kick off themain meeting with the Dr. Ken Noller Lecture: Reclaiming Trust in an Age of Misinformation. We will thenhave a diverse panel of experts moderated by Dr. Kristen Matteson discussing how to reconnect with yourscholarship. The panel will be followed by breakout sessions discussing specific areas of focus in scholarlyactivity including education, quality improvement and traditional clinical research. Breakouts will round outthe morning session with topics on essential skills for the Academic Specialist.The afternoon session will focus on innovations in Ob/Gyn starting off with a talk by Dr. Andrea Braden, anAcademic Specialist and entrepreneur. We then will have breakout sessions with SASGOG members sharinginnovations in clinical practice, quality improvement and education. The response to our call to membersfor innovations to share was phenomenal and I am excited to hear the great things we are doing! Our mainmeeting will wrap up with presentations of our award-winning abstracts and our Annual Business meeting.We will then join CUCOG for our annual joint session entitled “Faculty Development and CareerAdvancement: Structural or Innate?”. This session will provide ample opportunity for stimulating discussionwith SASGOG members and Chairs, a highlight of our past in-person meetings. The day will close witha Joint SASGOG/CUCOG Reception and Poster Session with ample refreshments and opportunities toconnect with old and new friends.In addition to the main meeting, we have several ancillary activities taking place. You can start your day withYoga in the Park led by Mireille Truong. Our Resident Reporters and Mentor/Mentee sessions will be takingplace over breakfast. I would like to thank Hologic for their continued unrestricted grant support of theResident Reporter Program.
