Psalm 231 The Lord is my shepherd; *I shall not be in want.2 He makes me lie down in green pastures *and leads me beside still waters.3 He revives my soul *and guides me along right pathways for his Name's sake.4 Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,I shall fear no evil; *for you are with me;your rod and your staff, they comfort me.5 You spread a table before me in the presence of those who troubleme; *you have anointed my head with oil,and my cup is running over.6 Surely your goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of mylife, *and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.All: Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit:*as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be for ever. Amen.

The First ReadingActs 3:12-19Lector: A reading from the Acts of the Apostles.Peter addressed the people, “You Israelites, why do you wonder at this,or why do you stare at us, as though by our own power or piety we hadmade him walk? The God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the Godof Jacob, the God of our ancestors has glorified his servant Jesus,whom you handed over and rejected in the presence of Pilate, thoughhe had decided to release him. But you rejected the Holy and RighteousOne and asked to have a murderer given to you, and you killed the Author of life, whom God raised from the dead. To this we are witnesses.And by faith in his name, his name itself has made this man strong,whom you see and know; and the faith that is through Jesus has givenhim this perfect health in the presence of all of you.“And now, friends, I know that you acted in ignorance, as did also yourrulers. In this way God fulfilled what he had foretold through all theprophets, that his Messiah would suffer. Repent therefore, and turn toGod so that your sins may be wiped out.”Lector: The Word of the Lord.People: Thanks be to God.Canticle 18A Song to the LambSplendor and honor and kingly power *are yours by right, O Lord our God,For you created everything that is, *and by your will they were created and have their being;

And yours by right, O Lamb that was slain, *for with your blood you have redeemed for God,From every family, language, people, and nation, *a kingdom of priests to serve our God.And so, to him who sits upon the throne, *and to Christ the Lamb,Be worship and praise, dominion and splendor, *for ever and for evermore.The Second ReadingJohn 10:11-18Officiant: A reading from the Gospel of St. John.Jesus said, “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down hislife for the sheep. The hired hand, who is not the shepherd and does notown the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and runsaway—and the wolf snatches them and scatters them. The hired handruns away because a hired hand does not care for the sheep. I am thegood shepherd. I know my own and my own know me, just as the Fatherknows me and I know the Father. And I lay down my life for the sheep. Ihave other sheep that do not belong to this fold. I must bring them also,and they will listen to my voice. So there will be one flock, one shepherd.For this reason the Father loves me, because I lay down my life in orderto take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my ownaccord. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it up again.I have received this command from my Father.”Officiant: The Word of the Lord.People: Thanks be to God.

Tabernackle LightThe tabernacle light, presence light, or sanctuary lamp, holds a candle and isattached to the wall or ceiling near the place where sacrament is reserved.Our tabernackle light was a gift to the parish by Ellen Cole in honor of her latehusband David. It was memorialized in a special Eucharist in 2014.The candle that it holds is kept continually burning anytime sacrament is reserved in the tabernacle as a sign of Christ’s presence. A single candle burnsall week long and is replaced every Sunday morning. It is a long tradition ofthe church to have such candles burn as a memorial for a loved one similar tothe way that flowers are offered. We have a suggested donation of 20 dollars.How to signup for the Tabernackle light during virtual worship:If you desire to dedicate the light to a loved one or in thanksgiving for aspecial occasion, please do the following:Email: millydowning@gmail.com and include the requested date and name ofthe person.You are encouraged to reserve a date(s) in 2021 as early as possible.
