Because ofour late arrival, we have the day at leisure with breakfast and lunch at the hotel. Take sightseeing up a notch withcoastal views from a breezy upper-deck and create treasured moments under a starlit sky asyou glide pass Kota Kinabalu’s waterfront.At 4pm, your tropical evening on the North Borneo Cruise begins at Sutera Marina Jetty. Getready to become acquainted with the charms of Kota Kinabalu on a whole new level. Yourevening unfolds along the sultry sun-tinged South China Sea, cruising past the islands andwater villages that dot Sabah’s west coast. You are free to wander around the vessel. Panoramicocean views, warmth of the setting sun and gentle sea breeze grace the upper deck while a liveband serenades the ethnic themed air-conditioned restaurant below with acoustic favourites.Dinner will be served buffet style. Day Three Monday 8th JuneMARI MARI CULTURAL VILLAGE / KOTA KINABALU CITY TOURAfter another fabulous breakfast at our Hotel, we’ll be picked up from our hotel and driveapproximately 20 minutes to Mari-Mari Cultural Village. Visit each tribe’s traditional house tolearn about each tribe's ancient cultures and take part in some in-house activities. You’ll lovethe cultural performance before we move on to the Dining Hall. You may shop for handicraft,take photos or just enjoy the natural surroundings. Try delectable traditional and fusion cuisinesbefore the end of the tour.Note: Visit to the Village is at 1000hrs.Please bring along drinking water bottle, insect repellent & hat.In the afternoon after your lunch, we’ll continue to enjoy a city tour. The tour includes a briefvisit to Tanjung Lipat, which offers panoramic scenery of the Gaya Island, South China Sea,Tun Mustapha Tower and the Kampung Likas village. Then on to the Kota Kinabalu CityMosque, recognized as one of the most beautiful mosques in Malaysia. Visit the Puh Toh TzeBuddhist temple before we drive to Signal Hill for a bird's eye view of the city, Atkinson ClockTower and Australia Place. Day Four Tuesday 9th June.KINABALU PARK/ WAR MEMORIAL/ SABAH TEA PLANTATIONAfter breakfast this morning, bring your luggage down as we’re leaving Kota Kinabalu today.We’ll be picked up from our hotel and drive 2 hours overland to the foothills of Mt. Kinabalu.We make a short stop at Pekan Nabalu market to sample local fruits in season and to stretchour legs. Visit the Kinabalu Natural History Gallery and Mountain Garden in Kinabalu ParkHeadquarters. If weather permits, take a guided walk on one of the trails in the cool surroundingto explore the montane forest.Then, we’ll make a very touching visit the Kundasang War Memorial Park to learn aboutSabah's WWII history. It’s dedicated to the British and Australian soldiers who died in theSandakan POW camp during their death marches to Ranau. It also recognises the suffering andsacrifice of the native population of Sabah. Weather permitting, we’ll enjoy great photos withthe majestic Mount Kinabalu, the highest peak in Borneo's Crocker Range and is the highestmountain in the Malay Archipelago.Overnight at Sabah Tea Garden. Day Five Wednesday 10th JuneSABAH TEA/ FACTORY/ OVERLAND SDK/ AGNES KEITH HOUSEAfter breakfast, we’ll head to the tea factory for a very informative tour and learn how tea isprocessed. You’ll love our scrumptious lunch at the Sabah Tea house, overlooking thepicturesque valley and Mount Kinabalu.After lunch, we’ll travel overland to Sandakan, (approximately 4 hour’s drive) where we willvisit the famed Agnes Keith’s house formerly home to the famous American author whopenned the book ‘Land below the Wind’. Afterwards, enjoy your afternoon tea and scones atEnglish Tea House (pinkies up!) before being dropped off at our hotel. Sandakan was theformer capital of British North Borneo until 1946. The town prospered in the early days due toits port with visiting traders from around the world. Sandakan is an important town toAustralian and British WWII history with the infamous Death Marches commencing here in1945 and ending in Ranau. Day Six Thursday 11th JuneGOMANTONG CAVES / SUKAU RAINFOREST LODGEAfter breakfast at our beautiful Sandakan Hotel, we’ll drive to Gomantong Caves and explorethe biggest bird’s nest caves in Sabah. Last time, we were lucky enough to see a wild orangutanin a tree near the entrance to the cave. Magical! And we actually saw the birds’s nests beingharvested. Now for the absolute highlight of the trip – our stay up the River! We’ll continuethe journey to Sukau on the Kinabatangan River, check in to the Sukau Rainforest Lodge, andtake an afternoon river cruise in search of wildlife and birds using a boat with hybrid systemof outboard and electric motor (depending on river current).We have been SO lucky on previous trips to see pygmy elephants playing on the banks of theriver – and crossing it! We’ve also seen Proboscis and Macaque monkeys, hornbills, snakes,and the elusive Orangutans! You’ll love our candlelight dinner overlooking the riverbankfollowed by slide presentation and interpretation by naturalist guide.Stay overnight at the Sukau Rainforest Lodge – Superior. (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)Note:Every boat for the river cruises are equipped with outboard engines and electric motor. With its cleanand quiet operation, the electric motor will be turned on to manoeuvre the boat only during wildlifeviewing (if location and river current permits). This way, you’ll be able to truly enjoy the wildlifeexperience without disturbing the peace and quiet of the natural surroundings.

Day Seven Friday 12th JuneOXBOW LAKE / SUKAU RAINFOREST LODGEBefore brekky, we’ll take a 6.00 a.m. morning river cruise up the Kinabatangan River toKelenanap oxbow lake to view more birds and wildlife. After breakfast, we’ll enjoy aneducational tour along the lodge’s Hornbill Boardwalk with our in-house naturalist. Afterlunch, join our in-house Orang Utan Talk activity. In the afternoon, we proceed for anotherriver cruise for more wildlife.Overnight at the Sukau Rainforest Lodge – Superior. (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)Day Eight Saturday 13th JuneSUKAU/ BORNEO PRIMATESAfter breakfast, we’ll return early to Sandakan overland by bus. Afterwards, you’ll bedelighted by our visit to Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre. We proceed to watch avideo show about the plight of the Orang Utans and the rehabilitation efforts ongoing at theCentre. Walk ten minutes through the rainforest on wooden boardwalks to witness the feedingof the orang utans at 1000hrs, and then we continue to the newly completed enclosed nurseryarea for young orang utans. We’ve been lucky in the past to have some orangutans just walkalong the boardwalk beside us! Unbelievably cute! We’ll also visit the Borneo Sun BearConservation Centre to learn about conservation of the world’s smallest bear .

Often referred to as KK, it’s a coastal city partly surrounded by rainforest. It's knownfor its bustling markets, modern boardwalk, beaches and waterfront Kota Kinabalu CityMosque. It is also a gateway to Kinabalu National Park, the home of 4,095m-high MountKinabalu. Today is a free day – you can choose to rest, shop, explore OR do one of two optionaltours.Mari Mari Sepangar Island - Spend a day of sun, sea and sand on an offshore coral island.Transfer to jetty for a 20-minutes boat ride to one of the Tunku Abdul Rahman Park islandsfor a day of relaxation and explore jungle trails on your own. Snorkel in crystal clear wateramong coral reefs and rainbow-coloured fishes before we return to Kota Kinabalu at 1500hours. (Picnic box lunch provided)ADDITIONAL 100 per person

Borneo Culinary Tour:This is a unique learning experience that offers you the opportunity to interact and be taughtdirectly by a local resident cook. 0900hrs - your tour starts with a short drive to the suburbsoutside of Kota Kinabalu. Proceed for a short trip to the local market to get your fresh groceries,before returning to the home of a local caterer and get yourself busy with cooking ‘Borneostyle’. What makes this tour interesting is the fact that your lunch will be what you cook duringthe class. The menu will be a set of locally prized dishes. It’s an enlightening daytrip that would leave you wanting to come back for more.We’ll be picked up from our hotel and driven approximately 45 minutes to the countryside witha quick stop at Tamparuli Suspension Bridge and the nearby local market, passing the scenicview of the Kiulu Valley. Upon arrival at the Fig Tree in Kampung Mantob, we will be greetedwith a warm welcome and briefed on the program of the day by our local guide. Then we cantry our hand at some cultural activities such as traditional rice processing, blow pipe, riceplanting and rubber tapping before lunch. We’ll be Picked up early from our hotel and transferred toBKI Airport for our flight departing at 08.40a.m. We’ll arrive into Brunei at 0920. Brunei is atiny nation on the island of Borneo, in 2 distinct sections surrounded by Malaysia and the SouthChina Sea. It's known for its beaches and biodiverse rainforest, much of it protected withinreserves. The capital, Bandar Seri Begawan, is home to the opulent Jame’Asr Hassanil Bolkiahmosque and its 29 golden domes. The capital's massive Istana Nurul Iman palace is theresidence of Brunei’s ruling sultan. We’ll be met at the Brunei Airport and visit this spectacularJam’ Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque. It is made of Italian marble, gold mosaic and Englishstained glass with craftsmanship that reflects classical Islamic architecture.The Royal Regalia Exhibition Hall displays collection of Borneo Ethnography, natural historydisplays and Islamic art documenting the origins of much of Brunei’s culture.
