Advanced ManufacturingMaintenance TechnicianCertificate of AchievementProgram DescriptionThe Maintenance Technician program introduces the student to basic electrical and mechanical components usedin basic manufacturing systems. Topics covered include functional descriptions, physical properties and operation ofelectrical and mechanical components and devices. Industrial components and preventative maintenance requirementsare also investigated. Students receive hands-on practical experience in the use and application of basic electricalinstruments and mechanical measuring devices. An emphasis is placed on safe work habits and procedures, systematicpreventive maintenance, localization and correction of malfunctions, and troubleshooting techniques.The Certificate of Achievement can be obtained by completing the 18-unit major. AeronauticsAirframe and Powerplant Maintenance TechnicianCertificates of Achievement and Associates in ScienceProgram DescriptionPractical and theoretical knowledge in basic maintenance techniques, plus the special requirements of airframe,powerplant, or airframe & powerplant work. Upon satisfactory completion of the required courses, the student is eligibleto take the Federal Aviation Administration written oral and practical examination for airframe, powerplant, or airframeand powerplant license.A focused Airframe or Powerplant Certificate of Achievement can be obtained upon completion of the corresponding41-unit major. AnthropologyAssociate in Arts in Anthropology for Transfer (ADT: AA-T)Program DescriptionThe Anthropology program emphasizes the development and diversity of, and adaptations in, human behavior andbiology. Students in this program may study a variety of anthropological subfields, including Physical, Cultural, andArchaeology. In addition to acting as a path for successful transfer to an institution offering a baccalaureate degree inAnthropology, the Associate in Arts in Anthropology for Transfer Degree provides students pursuing any baccalaureatedegree with basic skills in critical analysis, application of the scientific method, and cross-cultural understanding.Upon completion of the Associate in Arts in Anthropology for Transfer, students will be prepared to transfer to a CSUundergraduate Anthropology program.
