RULES AND REGULATIONSG1. Display space may be leased to individuals, firms, and or organizations acceptableto the Board of Directors of the Lessor. No subletting will be permitted.G2. All industrial buildings and outside exhibits will open for exhibition from l:00 P.M.to l0:00 P.M. on Sunday of Fair week and from noon to l0 P.M. Monday throughSaturday of Fair week. In no case will trucks or other removal equipment be allowedin exhibit areas during "Open for exhibition" hours. Watchmen will be on duty.G3. All exhibitors, livestock, article, business or organization, shall conduct theiroperations in a manner that will not interfere with other exhibitors. Violation of thisprovision will result in the forfeit of all privileges, premium money or rental money andthe removal of all effects from the Lessor's grounds. All electrical extension cords mustbe 3-pronged and exhibit the Underwriters Laboratory "UL" on each cord used. Directhook up to box.G4. The (Lessor) will carefully preserve articles while on fair property, but will not beresponsible for losses or accidents of such.G5. No exhibitor will be allowed to personally have access to the books of the Secretaryduring the Fair. However, upon proper application, such explanations as are necessarywill be made by the Secretary.G6. Any person making willful misrepresentations shall forfeit all rights to any premiumon an exhibit.G7. Any exhibitor: livestock, article, business or organization who exhibits usesdisrespectful language or manner to any member of this Association shall forfeit allprivileges, premium money or rental money and are required to immediately remove alleffects from the Lessor's grounds.G8. This premium book lists the classification of all premiums offered by the FairAssociation and in no case will special classes be established for articles or animals inaddition to those listed herein.G9. Due to the special nature of the ribbons and Banners awarded, there will be NOreplacement for either should the original be lost or destroyed.G10. The Fair Association reserves the right to postpone or change the time of exhibitionof any animal or article.G11. No gambling devices, raffles, or selling of chances will be permitted on or in property.G12. No loudspeakers or special (unauthorized) entertainment will be permitted on or inFair property.G13. Advertising, canvassing or soliciting, and dissemination of written material, forpolitical, commercial, educational, or religious purposes is permitted by an exhibitorwho rents space during the duration of the fair. Dissemination of materials is limited tothe frontage of the rented exhibit space. There shall be no solicitation of funds. Parking,ingress, egress and travel lanes shall not be obstructed. Interference with the traffic flow,either foot or vehicles, or with the duties prescribed for the traffic and/or parkingattendants is prohibited. No flyers or printed materials is allowed to be left on or attachedto vehicles in the parking areas.G14. A member of the executive committee will be at the Fair office each day of the Fairto hear and decide disputes or grievances affecting the Fair and to rule upon violations ofthe Rules and Regulations stated herein.Department Rules and RegulationsD1. Entry and release dates for Family Arts, Horticulture, Farm Bureau, 4-H, FFA, andAntique Farm Display are found in the respective department's listings in this catalog.D2. Removal of articles in any of these departments prior to the designated timeforfeits premiums on it.D3. All articles competing for premiums must possess more than ordinary merit,otherwise, no premium will be awarded. Unless there are two or more exhibitors ineach class it shall be considered as if no competition exists. In such cases, firstpremium ribbon will be awarded at the judge's discretion and second premium moneywill be awarded.D4. All awards shall be made by the single judge system.D5. Other rules and regulations pertaining specifically to certain departments are listedunder their headings herein.9

LIVESTOCK RULES AND REGULATIONSL1. Entry and Release DatesOpen class beef cattle entries will be accepted from 8-10 A.M., Sunday, July 22. Cattlemust be in place by 10 A.M. The open class beef cattle will be released at the end of thesteer show. 4-H Cattle not entered in the open class show will be asked not to enter untilafter 8 P.M. on Sunday, July 22.Draft horses released at l0:00 A.M. Thursday.Open class sheep released after show.Swine penned by 1 P.M. on Sunday of Fair Week.Open class dairy cattle must be entered by noon on Tuesday Fair week.All non-auction 4-H Livestock (Beef, Dairy, Goats, Sheep and Swine) will be releasedafter ll:00 P.M. Friday and must be removed prior to auction on Saturday morning.L2. Removal of any livestock entries prior to the designated time forfeits premiums of it.L3. All tie-in, pen and entry fees are payable in advance to taking possession of the spaceallotted or upon delivery of entry tags with the Fair Association.L5. All requests for stalls will receive prompt attention and will be held for responsibleparties until 4 P.M. on Monday of Fair Week if payment has been made by 4 P.M.L6. All livestock competing for premiums must possess more than ordinary meritotherwise no premium will be awarded. Unless there are two or more animals in eachclass it shall be considered that no competition exist and in such cases first premiumribbon or tag and second premium money will be awarded.L7. Judging on animals will have regard to symmetry, early maturity, size and generalqualities, and characteristics of the breeds, which they judge. They will make dueallowances for age, feeding and other circumstances and the character and condition ofthe animal.L8. All awards shall be made by the single judge system.L9. All animals to compete for premiums must be owned by the exhibitor at least thirtydays prior to the exhibition.L10. All animals must be shown to receive ribbons or premiums.L11. All premium money will be withheld until tie-in, pen and entry fees are paid.L12. Livestock Trucks and Trailers must be parked in the Parking Areas South On PyocaRoad, 100S.10

ANIMAL HEALTH REQUIREMENTS FOR EXHIBITION OFDOMESTIC ANIMALS IN INDIANA2018GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL SPECIESThis document describes the Indiana State Board of Animal Health’s (BOAH)requirements for all animal exhibitions in the state. HOWEVER, exhibitionorganizers may impose additional animal health requirements as a condition ofentry. BOAH recommends contacting the exhibition organizer for specificinformation about requirements for each event.Please call the Indiana State Board of Animal Health at 877-747-3038 withquestions concerning animal health requirements.A. Limitations on ExhibitionThis section describes limitations on exhibiting animals in Indiana. Other exhibitionlimitations may be described in the species-specific requirements that follow.1. Failure to meet all animal health requirements will result in removal ofanimals from the exhibition premises.2. The following animals are not eligible for exhibition in Indiana:a. Animals that originate from a herd that is under quarantine.b. An animal prohibited from exhibition under any law or order.c. Any animal classified as a brucellosis "suspect".d. Animals showing signs of any infectious or communicable disease orthat are a health hazard to people or other animals.e. Any animal that does not meet state animal health requirements.3. Any animal that develops or shows signs of any infectious or communicabledisease during exhibition must be removed from the premises, including thesurrounding exhibition grounds. An owner who is disputing the exclusion ofhis/her animal(s) from exhibition may not exhibit the animal in questionpending any appeal.The State Veterinarian is authorized to make the final determination as to an animal’seligibility for exhibition. The state veterinarian may order removal of any animal fromthe exhibition grounds.Exhibition organizers may impose health requirements in addition to those prescribedby BOAH. Added requirements may not contradict requirements imposed by BOAH.Exhibition organizers may have a licensed and accredited veterinarian review animalsand animal health documentation during the exhibition.B. Certificates of Veterinary Inspection1. For animals that originate in Indiana, contact the exhibition organizer todetermine the certificate of veterinary inspection (CVI) requirement, if any.2. For animals that originate outside the state of Indiana, the exhibitor musthave a properly completed official certificate of veterinary inspection(commonly known as “health papers”) for the animal. This CVI requirementapplies to all domestic animals (except for fish).3. A certificate of veterinary inspection on any animal coming from outsideIndiana for exhibition in Indiana is valid for 30 days from the date it is issuedby a veterinarian.4. Certificates of veterinary inspection accompanying animals for exhibitionmust be completed by a licensed and accredited veterinarian who haspersonally inspected the animals. CVIs must clearly include a description ofeach animal including the age, sex, and breed of the animal, and the official,individual identification.5. Out-of-state swine and cattle attending an Indiana exhibition must have apre-entry permit number noted on the certificate of veterinary inspection. Permitsare available online at: http://www.in.gov/boah/2661.htm.a. Certificates of veterinary inspection for all out-of-state swine and cattlegoing to the Indiana State Fair must have the import permit number forthe 2018 Indiana State Fair, “INSF18", written on the certificate.6. Out-of-state poultry and hatching eggs attending an Indiana exhibition mustbe accompanied by one of the following documents:a. An official certificate of veterinary inspection completed by a licensedand accredited veterinarian within 30 days immediately prior to theanimals entering Indiana.b. If the poultry or hatching eggs are from a flock participating in theNational Poultry Improvement Plan (NPIP), they may move with theappropriate NPIP inspection/testing/participation certificate or records.7. Out-of-state cervides (reindeer, fallow deer and CWD non-susceptiblespecies) must have a permit approved by BOAH at least 5 business daysbefore the movement. Contact BOAH cervid programs to obtain a pre-entry11

permit.8. A copy of the official certificate of veterinary inspection for each animalexhibited must be on file at the State Veterinarian's office prior to theopening day of the exhibition.C. IdentificationAll exhibition animals must be permanently and individually identified by an acceptablemethod. Official ear tags are tags approved by the USDA.
