Great Explorations Children’s Museum is more than just a museum. At GreatEx, we are dedicated to a culture of inclusion that inspires children tovalue themselves and the unique qualities in others as they discover the worldaround them. Our multi-sensory, hands-on experiences foster cooperative playfor the whole family, inquiry and self-discovery. We know that early educationis the cornerstone of future success. And we believe that EVERYONE shouldhave access to innovative, educational opportunities, regardless of financialcircumstances or varying physical and developmental abilities. When Great Ex received national accreditation (the highest honor for anymuseum), we celebrated achieving core standards of excellence asdetermined by the American Alliance of Museums, including providing qualityservices to the community, offering opportunities for diverse participation, and operating in a fiscally responsible manner promoting sustainability.Accreditation ensures that museums continue to uphold their public trust. Inthe last fiscal year, the museum served 204,458 children and families on-siteat the museum, and on the road by way of our stimulating outreachprograms at schools and community events. In fact, the museum providedFREE outreach programming to 14,509 children and families at a total of 67events, primarily in low-income areas in our community. This donatedprogramming represented a value of 22,350 and a 40% increase of hoursof service from our outreach team from the previous year!Letter from Our LeadershipWe are looking forward to a vibrant future of growth.
