FIGHT WITH YOUR WORDThis charge I commit to you, according to the propheciespreviously made concerning you, that by them you may wagethe good warfare. (1 Timothy 1:18)When in great trial, what is your reaction? Faith, fear, questioning God, anger ?When I face a trial, the first thing I do is ask God for a wordto get me through, to stand on, believe in, trust for, FIGHTWITH!I want to share from the word an example.Starting with Abraham, the Israelites were given a word, aPROMISE, of a great land that would be theirs someday, but it would be 400 years of affliction before they got it. Thepromise was reconfirmed to Joseph, then Moses when the400 years were up. The people knew the promise. When itcame to getting to their promised land, they were stoppedby a sea. They faced certain death with the sea before them,or bondage again with the sea of enemies behind them. The Israelites cried in fear “we were better off in bondage”.They forgot about the promise. They didn’t face up, theystared in fear at the problem.God told Moses, Ex 14:15-16, don’t cry to me, hold out yourrod and part the sea. He did, and they walked to freedom. Intrials, your word becomes your rod.Lord, in my trial, help me to hear the wordYou have for me, spoken or written. ThenI will raise my prophetic word, as the rodwas raised over the sea, and fight with it. Iwill trust You and believe for the victory onthe other side.

HOPE IN GOD’S PROMISESLet us hold tightly without wavering to the hopewe affirm, for God can be trusted to keep Hispromise. (Hebrews 10:23)During any time of hardship or crisis we know we have hopein Christ. God’s promises are irrevocable. There are so manyof them in the Bible that we can take hold of to give us hopethat we will get through and we will persevere. We know He is absolutely trustworthy (Nu 23:19; Heb 6:1318), unchanging (Ps 110:4; Mal 3:6-7; Jas 1:17-18), He hasthe power and will to fulfil His promises (Isa 55:11), and He isfaithful in keeping all His promises (Jos 21:45; Jos 23:14-15;1Ki 8:56; Ps 145:13).So how do we keep the hope afloat? By digging into Hisword and seeing for ourselves what He has promised us andthen declaring them. Romans 4:17 says that God speakslife to the dead and calls nonexistent things as though theyexisted. If you are feeling hopeless, find those scripturesthat pertain to God’s promises and declare them out loud. His word does not return void (Isaiah 55:10-11) – it willaccomplish what it was sent out to do!Thank You God for hope! I declare that I am Your daughterand can stand on Your promises. No situation is too hopeless!I have and endless supply of hope through Christ Jesus MyLord!

The Promised HelperAnd I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper,to be with you forever. (John 14:16)I’ve been thinking a lot about the Israelites and the 40 yearsthey spent in the wilderness. What has been especiallyreassuring to me is thinking about how God led His peoplein the wilderness. In our English vernacular, we tend to talkabout the Israelites wandering through the wilderness. They did anything but! Wandering suggests aimlessness –not knowing where to go. But the Israelites had God as theirguide, and in a very obvious way – He was a pillar of cloudby day and a pillar of fire by night. When the pillar moved, the Israelites packed up their camp and followed. This wasnot wandering – this was following their, and our, faithful Godwho led them out of captivity and into the promised land. Now I doubt that any of you have seen a pillar of cloudor a pillar of fire in recent days as we’ve been in this newwilderness together. But I want to assure you that God is stillwith us and still leading us. We don’t have those pillars, butwe have the gift of the Holy Spirit. Before Jesus ascendedinto heaven, He promised another helper – the Holy Spiritwho would be with us forever. He is guiding and directingour steps through this wilderness. He is making a way, andHe is our comforter when life seems so overwhelming. So I would encourage you to take sometime today to be still and listen for thevoice of the Holy Spirit. If you feel like youare wandering, let Him speak His directionto you. And if you feel overwhelmed, letHim be your comforter.

Parenting PartnerBut to all who did receive Him, who believed inHis name, He gave the right to become childrenof God, who were born, not of blood nor of thewill of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. (John 1:1213)As single moms, there is a lot that gets asked of us. We arethe sole support for our kids, not just financially but alsomentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Sometimes we focustoo much on playing both parental roles that we forgetto include the greatest Father Figure there ever could be.Psalm 127:3 says, “children are a gift from God, they are areward from Him”. He has entrusted the most precious of Hiscreations to our care, and already knows where we will fail, triumph, or stumble. He is already prepared to pick up whatwe have let fall through the cracks.I declare that as of today, we are no longer single parents!God’s right beside us parenting our children with us, raisingthem in His way as promised in John 1: 12-13. The bestparenting advice is between Genesis and Revelation, theHoly Bible.

THE WORD OF GOD AS A WEAPON“This Book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, butyou shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observeand do according to all that is written in it. For then you shallmake your way prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely andhave good success. Have not I commanded you? Be strong, vigorous, and very courageous. Be not afraid, neither bedismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”(Joshua 1:8-9)I am the first to say that I try over and over to do things inmy own strength. Over and over I have struggled until I hit aplace where I blow up, and through pain I finally surrenderand ask for help. This is not fun. In this verse the LordCOMMANDS Joshua, (and us) to be strong and courageous. What the heck dude? I am trying to be strong and I fail overand over. That’s because I try to do it apart from Him. I needto invite Him into the situation and ASK. Papa God does notcommand us to be strong or have courage without His help. That’s why in this verse the Lord gives us a weapon to buildourselves up and train us to know who we are, and whose weare, and that He is with us wherever we go.“The Law shall not depart out of your mouth, and you shallmeditate on it day and night, that you may observe and doaccording to all that is written in it.”The word meditate in this passage actually means to utter, muse, ponder, declare and sing to yourself. He actually commanded Joshua to talk, declare, muse, and even sing aboutGod’s Word. If you find yourself in needof encouragement, strength, healing, endurance, or freedom from fear use your

mouth! Use the Word of God as a weapon inyour favor! Declare, sing, talk about, ponderabout His word, His Law, and even your personalprophetic words.Father God, thank You for never leaving us. Thank You for HolySpirit that lives inside of us. Lord, teach me to use Your wordas a weapon. Teach me to come to You when I need help andencouragement. You are my courage. You are my strength. Itake confidence in Who you are and that I am Yours! I am NOTafraid! I am NOT dismayed. I AM strong! I AM courageous!Amen

ONE DAY AT A TIME“This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be gladin it.” (Psalm 18:24)In 2009 my husband was deployed to Iraq for a year. Eachday he was gone I would wonder if today would be theday the soldiers would come to the door to notify me ofhis death. What a horrible thing to worry about every day.Wouldn’t you agree? One day during the deployment an oldsong my mom used to listen to came to my mind. “One Dayat a Time.” The chorus goes like this:One day at a time, sweet JesusThat’s all I’m asking of YouJust give me the strength to do everydayWhat I have to doYesterday’s gone, sweet JesusAnd tomorrow may never be mineHelp me todayShow me the wayOne day at a timeI said, “Okay Lord! show me the way!” He said to me, “Thisis the day I have made so rejoice!” One way I learned howto rejoice was to thank Him every day for who He is in mylife. I soon realized that as I focused on the person of Jesus, slowed down and took one day at a time my fear dissipated. If you are wrestling with fear or worry, ask: “Jesus, what is preventing me fromrejoicing in today?” When you hear whatHe says, say: “Lord, I choose to hand thisto You, and as I do, what do You have forme in exchange?” Rejoice in that.

WORK HEARTILY FOR THE LORD“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lordand not for men.” (Colossians 3:23)As we work tirelessly at home it can feel overwhelming andendless at times. Or to some maybe it just feels boring orlackluster. As I look at my home, I see dishes in the sink, laundry hampers piled up, children in need of snacks andhomework focused direction. What if we viewed this workdifferently?2 Chronicles 31:21 states, “And every work that he undertookin the service of the house of God and in accordance with thelaw and the commandments, seeking his God, he did with allhis heart, and prospered.”Our mindset will change if we do EVERYTHING for theLord. Our work as women and mothers is not for men orchildren, but for Him. ‘Heartily’ comes from the Greek phraseek psuches, meaning “out of the soul.” Let’s allow our workto flow freely from us with passion, directly from our soul’sdepths. The rewards we will receive will be from God.Father, thank you for the gift of Motherhood andWomanhood. Thank you for the opportunity to serve myhousehold for Your glory. Uplift my heart from the depthsof my soul (ek psuches) to see my work is all for You. Pourout Your presence on me during every aspect of my day asI heartily perform my work to honor You. I love you. In Jesusname, Amen.

OBEDIENCE“ Listen to my voice, and do all that I command you. So shallyou be my people, and I will be your God, that I may confirmthe oath that I swore to your fathers, to give them a landflowing with milk and honey, as at this day.” Then I answered,“So be it, Lord.” (Jeremiah 11:4-5)What is it to obey? As mothers we can easily answer this aswe think of our expectations of our children. But what doesobedience to God look like. Well, Old Testament obediencewas strict and confusing. Of course there were the 10Commandments, but if you have taken the time to readthrough Leviticus, yikes! Could you imagine? A dove for this,a lamb for that, grain for this and a bull for that! The good news today is that we don’t need to be chained tothe this’s and that’s because of the new covenant foretold inJeremiah 31:33-34. This covenant was fulfilled when Jesuswas glorified after the cross. We have each received HolySpirit who convicts and does not condemn, nor require. Ourobedience to Holy Spirit still has the same Old Testamentoutcome - a land filled with milk & honey. Only now, we havea constant nudger - Holy Spirit, reminding us right and wrong(Thank God, Leviticus is impossible to get through!). Andwhen we concentrate on Jesus, no longer do we fear theconsequences of disobedience, because we know we residein the promised land, not because of our obedience, butbecause of Jesus. Hallelujah!Lord, teach me Your principles and help me to rejoice in Yourcommands for Your ways are better than my ways, and Yourthoughts are better than my thoughts. I praise You and thankYou that You do not give up on me and that You have a futureand a hope for me. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

LOVE AND FEAR IN THE TIME OF COVID“Have I not commanded you? Be strong andof good courage; do not be afraid, nor bedismayed, for the Lord your God is with youwherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9)“Fear not!” is the most repeated command in the Bible, appearing over 365 times! How do we “Fear not” when weare surrounded by fear, confusion, misinformation and everyconspiracy theory imaginable? By drawing closer to Godand letting His Word remind us that fear is always a liar! Wechoose to soak in His word rather than scouring the web orlistening to every conflicting news report.God’s word exhorts us not to lean on our own understanding, but to rely on Him. If our hearts and minds are filled with Hisword and our mouths are filled with His praises, fear mustflee! How can we love out into our communities when weare separated, confused and afraid? Not all of us are in aposition to sew masks or deliver care packages. However, all of us are in a position to share hope and peace and God’sfaithfulness, rather than fear, confusion and doubt. The church has been called for such a time as this, to standand spread hope and love to a frightened world. This is howLove casts out Fear!Heavenly Father, I pray that Your wrap around presencewould keep our eyes fixed on you. Give each of us the secureknowledge that YOU are in control. Let us be as sheep whoknow their Master’s voice. In Jesus’ name, Amen

DRY BONES“The LORD took hold of me, and I was carried away by theSpirit of the LORD to a valley filled with bones. He led meall around among the bones that covered the valley floor. They were scattered everywhere across the ground and werecompletely dried out.” (Ezekiel 37:1-2)This scene is downright gruesome. Ezekiel finds himself ina horrifying situation, tiptoeing over and around decayedhuman remains. If you’ve been in church for any length oftime, you’ve heard sermons preached on the verses thatfollow. The Lord tells Ezekiel to prophesy to the dry bones.God says He will cause muscles and flesh to form and breathto flow. And, they do. We read this passage and we hopethat God will cause the “dry bones” in our lives to comealive. If we’re honest, though, many of us feel a bit nervousprophesying such humanly, impossible things. We want tobelieve, yet in the back of our minds there is trepidation. Inmy own life, this happens when I jump to the end of the storywithout experiencing the beginning. In the prelude to Ezekiel 37:3-14, Ezekiel is held, carried, andled by the Lord. When I, like Ezekiel, relax into God’s arms, allowing Him to hold, carry and lead me, I feel my Papa’sbiceps and the warmth of His arms around me. Faith naturallyflows from this position of presence where it’s just God andme. I experience the power of His love for me. Seeing themiraculous isn’t about mustering up enough faith. It’s aboutfaith naturally flowing as I rest in His love for me. Like Ezekiel, life comes to dry bones when I surrender in His presence.Papa God, I don’t want to take a step without You. Thank Youfor always being with me. Thank You that when I surrenderto Your love, I am assured that whatever You tell me to do

will happen. The impossible is possible and drybones come to life. I love Your presence. I loveYou. Amen.MY DAUGHTER“O LORD God of hosts, restore us; cause Your face to shineupon us, and we will be saved.” (Psalm 80:19)Your face shines upon me--You Jesus are one with theFather and are the face of God; my creator, friend, andlover of my soul. You make my heart and mind praise andsing. Your glory is alive in me. You have restored andhealed my traumatic memories. Seeing Your face of lovemakes me whole and I rejoice. You are my LORD andmy God. Glorious things are spoken of You--Oh deepestfriend. You--my master gardener, make the garden of mylife beautiful, restored and saved. Forever I rest in Yourloving heart. My girl,You are delightful with Me. I love you. I love resting Myeternal life truths upon your heart. I shine My face uponyou and ever before you, and beside you, and withinyou. My love is set upon your heart; like a rock too largeto be moved. No circumstance can change how I loveyou. You are my girl whom I created. I sing My love andglorious things over you. Keep your eyes fixed on My face.I am continually restoring, continually saving, continuallydrawing others to see My face through you.

EXALT THE NAME OF JESUS“Thou will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayedon Thee. Because he trusts in thee Lord. Trust in the Lord, forever, for the Lord is the Rock eternal.” (Is. 26: 3-4)I had a revelation a short time ago. I had found myselflistening to all the updates on the Covid19 virus. There wasso much news on Facebook or internet feed all focusedon how many new cases of the virus there were, how manypeople tested positive, how many deaths, etc. One day, I feltthat the Lord showed me that each time the name “coronavirus” is spoken, it gives it more power. In my mind, it waslike seeing a balloon being blown up bigger each time thevirus was spoken of. That same thing occurs when we speakthe name of Jesus. As we dwell on Him and speak His name– that power gets bigger and bigger in our lives and in theatmosphere. In Phillippians 2:10-11 – it says “-that at the name of Jesusevery knee should bow, of those in heaven and of those onearth and of those under the earth, and that every tongueshould confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of Godthe Father.”So Father, today we pray that we would exalt the name ofJesus higher than our situation or circumstances and we havethe power to overcome our circumstances and we can shineas a light in the night as we declare thename of Jesus. Help us to be bold as weought. In the name above every othername – JESUS! Amen

GRACE UPON GRACE“For from His fullness we have all received, graceupon grace. “ (John 1:16)How amazing is God’s grace for His children. I come backto this verse often when I am feeling overwhelmed with life, with motherhood or raising little humans. God’s love for usis so great that He gives us grace upon grace upon grace even when we mess up continually.John 1:16 encourages me to show the same grace to mychildren, whom I love dearly, and to those I come in contactwith every day. God’s grace overflows into our lives daily andHis mercy and forgiveness never run out.Dear heavenly father we pray that we learn to show ourselves, our children and others the same kind of grace that You soabundantly give us over and over. Thank You for this kindof love that You so freely give and your unwavering gracetowards your children. May we learn to serve, love and growin Your ways in Jesus name, Amen.

SEEING INTO THE INVISIBLE REALM“Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than thosewho are with them.” And Elisha prayed, and said, “LORD, Ipray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then the LORD openedthe eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, themountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all aroundElisha.” (2 Kings 6: 16-17)There are many things going on right now that we don’tunderstand that possibly makes us fearful. However, we haveso much more available to us than what we can envisionwithout help. What we see are the physical things thatoverwhelm us. They are real, that is true. We deal with themdaily. It is our responsibility to be realistic, following throughwith our commitments, the things that we have been given tosteward. The power that we have available to us is brilliant. We have the power to see into what is not seen by the naturaleye. We are sons and daughters of the KING. Therefore,we have the privilege of having the mind and foresight of aking. We see what our Father God shows us is taking place inthe realm outside of the natural. We open our minds eye tosee that which is in the invisible realm of invisible victoriouswarfare. To believe the impossible we must remember whowe are and whose we are. Then taking up the true authoritygiven to us in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, boldly see beyond what we know.It is in 2 Kings 6: 16-17 where we haveour eyes opened. Read the entire accountof 2 King 6:8 - 23 and be encouraged. You do not have to muster up couragewithin yourself. But ask that God would

open the eyes of your heart to see beyond intothe invisible realm. Be encouraged that youare not alone. You are indeed surrounded byGod’s angel armies. You just be there with Him,trusting, listening, moving in obedience andlove.Father, Most Powerful One, I release over each one readingthis today, the power to see into the invisible realm. Showthem exactly who is surrounding, protecting and fighting forthem. Show them that they are not alone, but rather theyare strong to walk through without even a hint of smoke onthem. Help them know that the best place to be is so close toyou that they live and breathe with You in perfect harmony ofmovement. When You tell them to stay, they stay. When Youtell them to move, they move. Amen.

A MOM’S HUG LASTS LONG AFTER SHE LETS GO .“But I am a worm and not a man, scorned by mankind anddespised by the people. “ ( Psalm 22:6)The opening words of Psalm 22 are quoted by Jesus as Heagonized on the cross: “My God, my God, why have youforsaken me?” (v. 1) As the prophetic psalm continues, Hedeclares Himself to be a worm! Do curious Bible passagesintrigue you as they do me? If so, consider this amazingstory written by God Himself:The Crimson Worm [coccus ilicis] is a very special worm thatlooks more like a grub than a worm. When it is time to havebabies (which she does only one time in her life), the femaleCrimson Worm finds the trunk of a tree, a wooden fencepostor a stick. She then attaches her body to that wood andproduces a hard crimson shell and encases herself. She isso strongly and permanently stuck to the wood that the shellcan never be removed without tearing her body completelyapart and killing her.Once attached, the female Crimson Worm lays her eggsunderneath her body and the protective shell. When thebaby worms (or larvae) hatch, they stay underneath the shell. Not only does the mother’s body give protection for herbabies, but it also provides them with food – the babies feedon the living body of the mother! After just a few days, when the larvae growto the point that they are able to care forthemselves, the mother dies. As she dies, she oozes a crimson scarlet red dye whichnot only stains the wood she is attachedto, but also her young children. They are

colored scarlet red for the rest of their lives. After three days, the dead mother CrimsonWorm’s body loses its crimson color and turnsinto a white wax which falls to the ground likesnow. Consider some parallels to Jesus’ sacrificefor us: Though born with legs, she loses the use of them whenshe attaches herself to the tree. In order for her young to live, she must die. The larvae are protected by her shell. She becomes their food. The babies take on her color forever. Upon death, she is turned white as snow.Lord, words fail me, but Your Word is victorious in everycircumstance. Thank you for pointing to the sacrificialintentions You fixed, by Your own authority, long before thefoundation of the world. You died that we may live. Selah.

HOLY SPIRIT, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?“And we know that in all things God works for the good ofthose who love Him, who have been called according to Hispurpose.” (Romans 8:28)I am so thankful that our God is all powerful, all knowing, andeverywhere! Nothing slips by His sight or His hand. He is fullof love and compassion and works all things together for ourgood. We know this right? So how do we balance that when toughthings happen in life? The things that we go through thatdon’t feel like it’s for our good?We stand on that Truth and we ask “why”. Not in a “WHY ISTHIS HAPPENING TO ME?” But “Why Daddy? I believe thatYou are working this situation out and it will be for my good. You are here with me in this trial, protecting me and guidingme. Mold me and shape me more into Your image throughthis.”The next time you find yourself in a trial pray and listen to theHoly Spirit. Ask Him to show You what He is doing in it. AskJesus to show you where He is in it. Thank God for using it.Papa, I thank You for giving me Your Word to stand on. I knowit is Truth and it trumps any fact that tries to come against it.Thank You for never leaving me nor forsaking me. I want tosee You in every situation in my life. Give me eyes to see Youand a heart to trust You more. In Jesusname I pray. Amen.

THANK YOU MOM“Many women do noble things but you surpassthem all. Charm is deceptive and beauty isfleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord shallbe praised. Honor her for all her hands have done, and let herworks bring her praise at the city gates.” (Proverbs 31: 29 – 31)Today it seems like everything points to the best makeup, best clothes, shoes, anything money can buy. Today busymothers might not have the time to get dressed up or dotheir makeup. They are busy taking care of their kids, cookingcleaning, and working. Let me tell you something: God stillloves you, your husband still loves you, your kids love you.Children don’t love their mother for her beauty, but for herloving and caring heart. We see that love through everythingyou do. Through every frustration and every hard time, westill see the love you pour out to us. So I say thank you. Thankyou for everything you have done for us.Father, I thank you for this time together where we sit and canbe still. I thank you for the gentle ways you remind me that Iam enough. Let my works today represent Your goodness. Letthe words I speak be uplifting and encouraging. In momentswhere doubt arises in my value, effort and talents, may thisverse come over my spirit and remind me that You see mefar more precious than any gem and that I am fully andcompletely yours. To You be all the honor and glory. AMEN.

FIGHT FROM VICTORY“You surround me with songs of victory.” (Psalms 32:7)There has never been a battle that the Lord has not won.2 Chronicles 20:15 says, “Do not be afraid! Don’t bediscouraged by this mighty army, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.” When we fight our spiritual battles with Jesus, weare joining with victory. When we have Him on our side, it’slike we are predestined to win.King Jehoshaphat and his people were fighting an unfair foe. They sought the Lord, trusting in Him and faced their enemywith worshippers leading the charge. They reached out inbattle with victorious worship choruses on their lips. Godsent confusion into the enemy’s camp as they turned againstthemselves. The victory was won by worship.Worship is a powerful weapon of warfare. Today we fight adefeated foe. Our enemy can be taken down by a melody.Though our enemy is nothing compared to the victoryfound in Jesus it’s easy to become entangled in the world’strappings of half truths and full on snares.Sometimes you have to sing yourself into the truth. You singwhatever it is, find that anthem, that victorious chorus, thatscripture verse, grab it and keep on signing it. Perhaps it’ssinging, “I am a Child of God,” over and over and over again.Every single battle that the Lord hasfought He has come out of that battlevictoriously. Hallelujah! I challenge you toactivate your faith today, play your favoriteworship song on repeat and fight fromvictory.

PREPARE THE WAY OF THE BRIDE“Let us rejoice and exult and give him the glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and hisBride has made herself ready.” (Revelation 19:7)The Bride has made herself ready. Does this mean thereare things we should be doing? This makes me think of thewise virgins that were “ready” and had their lamps full of oil(Matthew 25:1-4). If the oil signifies Holy Spirit, then I need tobe full of Holy Spirit to be ready. I need to know Him fully, bewith Him every moment of every day to become one withHim.To develop this relationship, I started by putting a Bible onthe passenger seat of my car to remind me that He is there. Then I turned off the radio and “we” sang songs together, talked, laughed, loved together. As His presence became“normal”, I realized He was with me wherever I went. Eventhough I was still in the driver’s seat, He was doing thedriving! Now, we do everything together!I encourage you to take time today to make yourself ready.Spend time with Him listening, mind and soul focused onHim. In His Presence His love changes us, enabling us to lovecompassionately – ourselves and others. Commune with yourGroom-to-be. It is your turn to become one with Him.Father, thank You for the gift of Holy Spirit. I want to always beready for whatever You have in store for me. In Jesus Name Ipray. Amen.

THE HOPE OF CHRIST“Teach me Your way, Lord, that I may rely on Your faithfulness;give me an undivided heart, that I may fear Your name.”(Psalm 86:11)My life has changed so much over the years. I am thankful Iam not alone

NewDay Women’s Devotional, written by women for women. This seems to be the best edition yet! Thank you to all who shared their devotional writing. We are blessed by mighty women of revelation and grace! The writings in this devotional drip of divine encounter and inspiration. This editio
