GRANDMA ON THE MOVE COLOURING & ACTIVITY BOOKOne day, my youngestdaughter made a cleverconnection betweenmy job and the Will’sJams song Walk ‘n’Roll: “Mom, this mustbe your favourite!”she said eagerly. I wasencouraged by herunderstanding of mywork in traffic safetyand for embracing the lessons of the song. Her smallcomment sparked this important and exciting initiativeto collaborate with Will Stroet of Will’s Jams alongsideCharlotte Diamond.Grandma on the Move was created to educate,encourage, and highlight traffic safety, particularlyaround our most vulnerable road users. Children,seniors, people who walk, bike, or roll, includingpeople in wheelchairs, are more vulnerable to injury or“Writing Grandma onthe Move was really funbecause I love creatingsongs about biking,driving, walking andriding transit, which areall things I enjoy doingin our city. I live in amultigenerational homewith my parents, wifeand two girls, and we doall these things to get around town. In fact, sometimesI take the kids on the SkyTrain or SeaBus just for anadventure even if we have nowhere in particular togo! Being a busy touring musician, I love driving mycar (the “Willmobile”) to and from shows and havedriven all across our majestic country to share mymusic with kids. When I get home, I feel even moremotivated to bike, walk or run around this beautifulcity we are blessed to call home.
