ACCORDING TO MATTITYAHU§PEREK ALEPH (CHAPTERONE)This is the sefer toldot ofRebbe, Melech HaMoshiach YehoshuaBen Dovid, Ben Avraham. 2 Avraham, then Yitzchak,Yaakov, Yehudah and his brothers; 3 then, through Yehudah,Peretz and Zerach by Tamar; thenChetzron, Ram; 4 then Amminadav,Nachshon, Salmon; 5 then Boaz by Rachav;then Oved by Ruth, then Yishai; 6 then Yishai fatheredDovid HaMelech; then Shlomo by the wifeof Uriyah; 7 then Rechavam, Aviyah,Asa, 8 then Yehoshafat, Yoram,Uziyahu; 9 then Yotam, Achaz,Chizkiyahu, 10 then Mnasheh, Amon,3

4THE BESURAS HAGEULAHYoshiyahu, 11 then Ykhanyahu andhis achim from the days of the Golus inBabylon. 12 After Ykhanyahu, thenShaltiel, then Zrubavel, 13 then Avichud, thenElyakim, then Azur; 14 then Tzadok, thenYakhin, then Elichud; 15 then Elazar, thenMattan, then Yaakov. 16 Yaakov fathered Yosef, the baal (husband) of Miryam, from whomwas born Yehoshua, who is called Rebbe,Melech HaMoshiach. [Yochanan 1:49] 17 So then, there werearbaa asar (fourteen) dorot (generations)from Avraham to Dovid [trans. note:Dovid DVD in Hebrew [d 4, v 6, d 4] (4 6 4 14)], and there were arbaaasar dorot from Dovid to the Golus (Exile)in Babylon, and there were arbaa asardorot from the Golus in Babylon to Rebbe,Melech HaMoshiach.

ACCORDING TO MATTITYAHU 18 The huledet (birth) ofRebbe, Melech HaMoshiach was asfollows. When Moshiach’s Em, Miryam, had been given in erusin to Yosef [benDovid], but before they came together, shewas found with child through the RuachHakodesh. 19 Her shidduch, Yosef[ben Dovid], being a tzaddik and notwanting to humiliate her publicly, planned to deal with the get (divorce) in aprivate arrangement. 20 Now just when Yosef[ben Dovid] had thought through to thistachlis (purpose)--hinei! A malachHashem appeared to him in a chalom(dream), and said, Yosef ben Dovid, do notshrink from taking Miryam in nisuim(marriage) as your [basherte (destinedmate) aishes chayil (virtuous woman)]kallah (bride), because what has beenconceived in her is through the RuachHakodesh. 21 And she shall bear BEN(Son) and you will call SHMO (his name,5

6THE BESURAS HAGEULAHZECHARYAH 6:12) “YEHOSHUA”(ZECHARYAH 6:11-12) because he willbring his people yeshuah (rescue, salvation, deliverance) from theirpeyshaim (rebellions, transgressions). 22 Now all this occurred sothat which was spoken by Hashemthrough the Navi (prophet) might befulfilled, 23 HINEI, HAALMAHHARAH VYOLEDET BEN VKARAT SHMOIMMANU-EL (Behold, the Virgin will bewith child and will bear Son and will callhis name Immanu-El--YESHAYAH 7:14;cf SHIR HASHIRIM 6:8), whichtranslated means G-d is with us. 24 Then Yosef [ben Dovid],rising up from sleep, did as the malachHashem commanded him and he took hiskallah. 25 And Yosef [ben Dovid]did not know her until she bore BEN andYosef [Ben Dovid] called him by the nameof Yehoshua [Ben Dovid].[See Baba Bathra 8:6]

ACCORDING TO MATTITYAHU§PEREK BEIT (CHAPTERTWO)Now after Yehoshua was bornin Beit-Lechem Yehudah, in the days ofHerod [the Great, the Roman client]king --hinei!-- chachamim (wise men)from eretz Mizrach (the land of the East)arrived in Yerushalayim, 2 saying, Where is he thatis born Melech HaYehudim? For we haveseen his KOCHAV (star, BAMIDBAR24:17) in the Mizrach (East) and havecome to fall down before him. 3 Because Herod the kingheard this, he was terribly shaken, and allYerushalayim with him. 4 And assembling all the7

8THE BESURAS HAGEULAHRashei Hakohanim (Chief Priests) andSofrim (Scribes, Torah-teachers,Rabbonim) of the people, he inquired ofthem the place where Rebbe, MelechHaMoshiach was to be born. 5 They told him, InBeit-Lechem Yehudah; because so itstands written by the Navi: 6 And YOU,BEIT-LECHEM, (Bethlehem, MICHOH5:1[2]) in eretz Yehudah are by no meansleast among the shtetlach (towns) orruling [alafim] of Yehudah; because out ofyou will come a Moshel (Ruler) who will bethe Roeh Ami Yisroel (Shepherd of myPeople Israel). 7 Then Herod secretlysummoned the chachamim andascertainedfrom them the exact date ofthe manifestation of the KOCHAV. 8 Then he sent them toBeth-Lechem, saying, Go and make athorough search for the yeled (child); assoon as you have found him, report to me,

ACCORDING TO MATTITYAHUso that I, as you, may come and fall downbefore him. 9 After they heard the king, they departed, and--hinei! The KOCHAVthey had seen in the Mizrach (East) wasgoing ahead of them until it came andstood above the place where the yeledwas. 10 When they saw theKOCHAV, they rejoiced with exceedinglygreat nachas (joy). 11 And, entering the bais(house), they beheld the yeled withMiryam, his Em, and prostratedthemselves before him. Then, openingtheir treasure chests, they offered gifts ofgold, frankincense, and myrrh. 12 And having beenwarned in a chalom (dream) not to returnto Herod, they took refuge in their owncountry by another way. 13 And when they’d gone-hinei!A malach Hashem appearedto Yosef [Ben Dovid] in a chalom (dream),9

10THE BESURAS HAGEULAHsaying, Arise, and take the yeled and hisEm, and flee toEretz Mitzrayim (Egypt), andstay there until I tell you, for Herod isabout to seek the yeled to destroy him. 14 So, having got up, Yosef[ben Dovid] took the yeled, and his Em bynight and departed for Eretz Mitzrayim. 15 And Yosef [ben Dovid]was there until the mot Herod. This wasto fulfill what had been spoken byHashem through the Navi,UMIMITZRAYIM KARATI LIVNI (Out ofEgypt have I called my Son, HOSHEA11:1).THE SHOAH OF THEINNOCENTS 16 When Herod saw thathe had been outwitted by the chachamim,he was greatly enraged, and he orderedthe slaughter of all the yeladim inBeit-Lechem and its vicinity who were twoyears old or under, in accordance with the

ACCORDING TO MATTITYAHUtime that he had learned from thechachamim. 17 Then came thefulfillment of what was spoken throughYirmeyah HaNavi: 18 KOL BRAMAHNISHMAH (A voice was heard in Ramah,YIRMEYAH 31:14[15]), a voice of bitterweeping and mourning. Rachel is cryingfor her yeladim; she refuses to becomforted, because they are no more.MOSHIACH’S LITZIATMITZRAYIM (GOING OUT FROM EGYPT)AND HIS RETURN TO A FIRST CENTURY“SHTETL” (JEWISH VILLAGE) 19 When Herod died, hinei,in Eretz Mitzrayim a malach Hashemappeared to Yosef [ben Dovid] in a chalom(dream), 20 saying, Arise, and takethe yeled and his Em and go to EretzYisroel, for those seeking the life of theyeled are dead. 21 And Yosef [ben Dovid]arose and took the yeled and his Em, andentered Eretz Yisroel. 22 And when Yosef [benDovid] heard that Archelaus hadsucceeded his father Herod as king ofYehudah, Yosef [ben Dovid] was afraid to11

12THE BESURAS HAGEULAHgo there. And, having been warned in achalom, he departed into the districts ofthe Galil. 23 And Yosef [ben Dovid]made his home in the shtetl (Jewishvillage) called Natzeret, so that which wasspoke by the Neviim might be fulfilled: Hewill be called a Natzri [i.e. Moshiach theNetzer,Tzemach, YESHAYAH 11:1;YIRMEYAH 23:5; ZECHARYAH 3:8;YESHAYAH 53:2; ZECHARYAH 6:11-12].§PEREK GIMEL (CHAPTERTHREE)Now in those days Yochananof the tevilah of teshuva appears, preaching, crying out as a maggid(preacher) [for the Moshiach] in themidbar (wilderness) of Yehudah, 2 saying, Make teshuva, for the Malchut HaShomayim has comenear. 3 For this [Yochanan] is theone spoken of through Yeshayah the Navi, saying, KOL KOREY BAMIDBAR (A voiceof one shouting in the wilderness,YESHAYAH 40:3): Prepare the DerechHashem (the way of the L-rd). Make hispaths straight! 4 Now Yochanan himself

ACCORDING TO MATTITYAHUhad camel-hair clothing and a leather beltaround his waist, and his food was arbe(locusts) and devash (wild honey). 5 Then all Yerushalayimand all Yehudah and the whole region ofthe Yarden were going out to him. 6 Making vidduy(confession of sin) [to Hashem] of theiraveros (sins), they were submitted to atevilah (immersion) by him, using theYarden River as a mikveh mayim(gathering of water). 7 But when he saw manyof the Perushim and Tzedukim coming towhere he was using the Yarden as amikveh mayim, Yochanan said to them,You banim (sons) of nachashim (snakes)!Who warned you to flee from the charonaf [Hashem] habah (the coming burningwrath of Hashem)? 8 Produce pri tov l’teshuva(fruit worthy of repentance)! 9 Do not presume to say toyourselves, We have the yichus (proudlineage), we havethe zechut Avot (merit of theFathers) of Avraham Avinu (our fatherAbraham). For I say to you that Hashemis able to raise up from these avanim(stones) banim (sons) of Avraham.10 And already the ax is laidat the shoresh haetzim (the root of the13

14THE BESURAS HAGEULAHtrees); therefore, every etz not producingpri tov (good fruit) is cut down and throwninto the eish (fire). 11 I give you a tevilah(immersion) in a mikveh mayim forteshuva, but Hu Habah (He who Comes, trans. note: i.e., the Moshiach) after mehas more chozek (strength) than me. Iam not worthy to remove his sandals. He will give you a tevilah (immersion) withthe Ruach Hakodesh and eish (fire). 12 The winnowing fork isin his hand, and he will clear out histhreshing floor, and he will gather hiswheat into the storehouse; but the chaffhe will burn with unquenchable eish(fire). 13 Then Yehoshua comesfrom the Galil to the Yarden to Yochanan,to submit to Yochanan’s tevilah. 14 But Yochanan wouldhave deterred him, saying, I have need tosubmit to your tevilah [trans. note:Moshiach’s tevilah], and yet you come tome? 15 But answering him,Yehoshua said, Permit it now, for thus itis proper to fulfill all Tzidkat Hashem[DANIEL 9:24]. 16 And having received thetevilah in the Yarden’s mikveh mayim,Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach immediately

ACCORDING TO MATTITYAHUcame up. And, hinei! The Shomayimwere opened to him, and he saw theRuach Hakodesh of Hashem descendinglike a yonah (dove) and coming upon him. 17 And, hinei, a bat kol (avoice from heaven) came out ofShomayim, saying, ZEH BNI AHUVIASHER BO CHAFATZTI (This is my Son,the beloved, with whom I am wellpleased).§PEREK DALET (CHAPTERFOUR)Then Rebbe, MelechHaMoshiach was led up into the midbarby the Ruach Hakodesh of Hashem toundergo nisyonos (temptations) byHasatan. 2 And, having undergone atzom (fast) for arbaim yom varbaim lailah(forty days and forty nights), afterwardRebbe, Melech HaMoshiach wasfamished. 3 And the tempter came tohim and said to him, If you are the BenHaElohim, then speak the command thatthese avanim (stones) become lechem(bread). 4 But Rebbe, MelechHaMoshiach answered, Katuv (It is15

16THE BESURAS HAGEULAHwritten), LO AL HALECHEM LVADOHYCHEYEH HAADAM, KI AL KOL MOTZAHFI HASHEM. (Man does not live on breadalone but on every word that comes fromthe mouth of Hashem, DEVARIM 8:3). 5 Then Hasatan takesRebbe, Melech HaMoshiach to the IrHakodesh (the Holy City) and set him atopthe pinnacle of the Beis Hamikdash, 6 and says to Rebbe,Melech HaMoshiach, If you are the BenHaElohim, then throw yourself down, forkatuv (it is written), MALACHAVYTZAV-VEH LACH (His angels He willcommand concerning you) and upon theirhands they will lift you up lest you strikeyour foot against a stone, TEHILLIM91:11-12.) 7 Rebbe, MelechHaMoshiach said to Hasatan, Again, it iswritten, LO TENASSU ES HASHEMELOHEICHEM (Do not test Hashem yourG-d DEVARIM 6:16). 8 Again, Hasatan takesRebbe, Melech HaMoshiach to a very highmountain and shows him all themamlechot (kingdoms) of the Olam Hazehand the kavod (glory) of them. 9 And Hasatan said toRebbe, Melech HaMoshiach, All thesethings I will give to you, if you will falldown VTISHTACHAVEH (and you will

ACCORDING TO MATTITYAHUbow down to [DEVARIM 5:9]) me. 10 Then Rebbe, MelechHaMoshiach says to him, Depart,Hasatan! For katuv (it is written), ESHASHEM ELOHEICHA TIRA VOTOTAAVOD (The L-rd your G-d you shall fearand Him you shall worship, DEVARIM6:13). 11 Then Hasatan leaveshim, and, hinei, malachim came andattended to Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach. 12 Now, having heard thatYochanan was arrested, Rebbe, MelechHaMoshiach departed into the Galil. 13 And having left behindNatzeret, Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiachheadquartered in Kfar-Nachum by thesea, in the environs of Zvulun and Naftali. 14 This was to fulfill whatwas spoken through Yeshayah HaNavi, 15 ARTZAH ZVULUNVARTZAH NAFTALI (To the land of Zvulunand to the land of Naftali, YESHAYAH8:23-9:1 [9:1-2]), the way to the seabeyond the Yarden, Galil HaGoyim, 16 the people sitting inCHOSHECH RAU OHR GADOL (darknesssaw a great light), YOSHVEI V’ERETZTZALMAVET (the ones living in the land ofthe shadow of death), a light has dawnedamong them. 17 From then Rebbe,17

18THE BESURAS HAGEULAHMelech HaMoshiach, began to proclaim, saying, LAlter LiTeshuvah (ImmediateRepentance ), for the MalchutHaShomayim has come near. 18 And walking besideLake Kinneret (Sea of Galilee), Rebbe,Melech HaMoshiach saw two achim,Shimon, the one being called Kefa(Petros), and his brother Andrew, castinga net into the sea, for they weredaiyagim (fishermen). 19 And Rebbe, MelechHaMoshiach says, Come, follow me, and Iwill make you daiyagei adam (fishers ofmen). 20 And immediately, leaving their nets, they followed Rebbe,Melech HaMoshiach. 21 And having gone onfrom there, he saw two other achim,Yaakov Ben Zavdai and Yochanan hisbrother, in the sirah (boat) with Zavdaitheir father, repairing their nets, and hesummoned them. 22 Immediately, leavingthe sirah (boat) and their father, theyfollowed Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach [Mt19:29]. 23 And Rebbe, MelechHaMoshiach went about in all the Galil, exercising the ministry of moreh (teacher)in their shuls and of darshan (preacher) of

ACCORDING TO MATTITYAHUthe Besuroh Tovoh (Good Tiding of aJoyous Event), the BesurasHaGeulah (the Good News ofRedemption) of the Malchut Hashem, andRebbe, Melech HaMoshiach went aboutbringing refuah (healing) to every diseaseand every illness of the people. 24 And the report went outabout Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiachthroughout all Syria; and they brought tohim all the cholim (sick) with variousillnesses and machalot, demoniacs, epileptics, and paralytics; and Rebbe,Melech HaMoshiach brought themrefuah. 25 And from the Galil, theDecapolis, Yerushalayim, Yehudah, andEver-HaYarden --from all these placesgreat multitudes followed Rebbe MelechHaMoshiach.§PEREK HE (CHAPTER FIVE)THE POSEK HADOR (WORLDAUTHORITY ON THE SUBJECT OF19

20THE BESURAS HAGEULAHJEWISH LAW AND OF THE ASERESHADIBROS, THE TEN COMMANDMENTS)When Rebbe, MelechHaMoshiach saw the multitudes, heALAH HAHAR (went up the mountain,SHEMOT 19:3) and when he sat down, his talmidim came to him. 2 Then Rebbe, MelechHaMoshiach began to speak, and gavethem this torah (teaching), saying, 3 Ashrey ANIYEIHARUACH (Blessed, Happy are the poorin spirit, YESHAYAH 66:2) for theirs is theMalchut HaShomayim. 4 Ashrey are the AVELIM(the ones mourning, YESHAYAH 61:2), forthey will be comforted. 5 Ashrey are the ANAVIM(humble, YESHAYAH 29:19; ZEFANYAH2:3), for YIRESHU ARETZ (they willinherit the land, TEHILLIM 37:11). 6 Ashrey are the oneshungering and thirsting for TzidkatHashem (Tzedek Olamim, EverlastingRighteousness, DANIEL 9:24), for theywill be satisfied. 7 Ashrey are the merciful, for they will be shown rachamim (mercy). 8 Ashrey are those of LEVTAHOR (pure heart, TEHILLIM 51:12[10]), for they will see Hashem.

ACCORDING TO MATTITYAHU 9 Ashrey are the peacemakers, for they will be called bneihaElohim (sons of G-d). 10 Ashrey are the onesbeing persecuted because of TzidkatHashem (righteousness, DANIEL 9:24),for theirs is the Malchut HaShomayim. 11 Ashrey are you whenthey reproach you and persecute you andspeak all kinds of lashon horah againstyou, speaking sheker (falsehood, lies)because of me [Moshiach]. 12 Have simcha (joy) andlev sameach (glad heart), for your sachar(reward) is great inShomayim, for thus theypersecuted the Neviim before you. 13 You are the melachhaaretz (salt of the earth), but if the saltbecomes tasteless, in what way will itbecome salty again? It is no longer goodfor anything, but is thrown out andtrampled by men. 14 You are the OhrHaOlam (the Light of the World). A citylying on a mountain top cannot be nistar(hidden). 15 No one, after lighting amenorah, places it under a measuringbasket, but on the shulchan (table), and itgives ohr (light) to kol anshei habais (all inthe house).21

22THE BESURAS HAGEULAH 16 In like manner, let yourlightso shine before Bnei Adam, that they may see your maasim tovim(good works) and give kavod (glory) toyour Av shbaShomayim (Father inHeaven). 17 Do not think that Icame to abolish the Torah or the Neviim.I did not come to abolish but to complete. 18 For, omein, truly I sayto you, until Shomayim and haaretz passaway, not one yod, not one tag(ornamental flourish), will pass from theTorah until everything is accomplished.MOSHIACH’S CHEREM(BAN) AGAINST HITBOLELUT(ASSIMILATION) AND MINUT(APOSTASY, I.E. RENUNCIATION ORABANDONMENT OF A PREVIOUSLOYALTY) FROM THE TORAH OF MOSHEREBBENU; 19 Therefore, whoeverannuls one of the least of these mitzvot(divine commandments given by Hashemto Moshe Rebbenu) and so teaches BneiAdam, shall be called katon(least) in the MalchutHaShomayim; but whoever practices andteaches them, this one will be called gadol

ACCORDING TO MATTITYAHU(great) in the Malchut HaShomayim.THUS WE SEE MOSHIACHNOT AS THE FOUNDER OF A NEWRELIGION BUT AS THE ANCHOR OF TRUEORTHODOX JUDAISM [SEE MT CHP 23AND AC CHP 21:21-26]; AS WE SEE ATTHE END OF THIS BOOK, IN VIEW OFTHE TECHIYAS HAMOSHIACH, WHO AREDYING MEN TO GAINSAY? 20 For I say unto you thatunless the Tzedek (Righteousness) of youexceeds that of the Sofrim and Perushim, you will certainly not enter the MalchutHaShomayim. 21 You have heard that itwas said to the ancients, LO TIRTZACH(Do not murder, SHEMOT 20:13;DEVARIM 5:17), and every rotzeach(murderer) shall be liable to be the BetDin (Court). 22 But I say to you, thateveryone who harbors kaas (anger)against his Ach [b’Moshiach], his chaver, shall be subject to mishpat (judgment);and whoever shall say to his Ach[b’Moshiach], Reyka! (Good for nothing!)will be subject to the Sanhedrin; andwhoever shall say Shoteh! (Fool) shall besubject to Eish Gehinnom (Fire of Hell). 23 Therefore, if you bring23

24THE BESURAS HAGEULAHyour korban (sacrifice) to the Mizbeach(altar), and there you remember that yourAch [b’Moshiach] has something againstyou, 24 leave your korban therebefore the Mizbeach, and go and first bereconciled to your Ach [b’Moshiach]; andthen come offer your korban. 25 Come to terms quicklywith your ish riv (opponent in a lawsuit),while you are a fellow-traveler on thederech eretz, lest the ish riv might deliveryou to the shofet (judge), and the shofetmight deliver you to the shoter (lawofficial), and the shoter might deliver youto the beit hasohar (prison house). 26 For, omein, truly I sayto you, you may never come out fromthere until you repay the last peruta(small coin). 27 You have heard that itwas said, LO TINAF (Do not commitadultery, SHEMOT 20:14). 28 But I say to you thateveryone looking upon a woman withtaavah (lust) for her has alreadycommitted niuf (adultery) with her in hisheart.JEWISH HYPERBOLETEACHING RADICAL TESHUVA FOR THEBENEFIT OF FOLLOWERS WHO DON’T

ACCORDING TO MATTITYAHUSEEM TO GRASP THE SPIRITUAL NATUREOF THE REPENTANCE NECESSARY TOPRACTICE MOSHIACH’S JUDAISM 29 And if your right eyecauses you to commit chet (sin), tear itout and throw it from you, for it is betterfor you that one of your evarim (members)be lost and not your whole basar (body, flesh) be thrown into Gehinnom. 30 And if your right handcauses you to commit chet, cut it off and throw it from you, for it isbetter for you that one of your evarim(members) be lost and not that your wholebasar may go into Gehinnom. 31 It was also said,Whoever divorces his wife, let him give toher a “get,” a SEFER KERITUT (bill ofdivorce, DEVARIM 24:1). 32 But I say to you thateveryone divorcing his wife, except for theDVAR (indecent thing, DEVARIM 24:1) ofzenut (fornication), makes her become anoefet (adulteress), and whoever marriesa gerusha (divorcee) commits niuf(adultery). 33 Again, you have heardthat it was said to the ancients, You shallnot break your nederim (vows), but youshall repay your vows to Hashem.(seeVAYIKRA 19:12; BAMIDBAR 30:3;25

26THE BESURAS HAGEULAHDEVARIM 23:22) 34 But I say to you, Do notswear shevuot (oaths) at all, neither byShomayim, for it is the kes malchut ofHashem (throne of G-d), 35 nor by haaretz, for it isthe hadom (footstool) of his feet, nor byYerushalayim, for it is the kiryat melechrav (city of the great king, TEHILLIM48:3[2]). 36 Neither are you to swearby your rosh, for you are not able to makeone hair turn white or black. 37 But let your word beken, ken (yes, yes) or lo, lo (no, no,), butanything beyond this is lashon horah. 38 You have heard that itwas said, AYIN TACHAT AYIN, SHENTACHAT SHEN (An eye for an eye and atooth for a tooth SHEMOT 21:24). 39 But I say to you, Do notset yourself against the rasha (evilperson), but whoever hits you on yourright cheek, turn to him also the othercheek. 40 And the one wishing tosue you and take your tunic, give to himalso your kaftan. 41 And whoever will forceyou to go one mile, go with him two. 42 And the one asking youto give and the one wishing to borrow

ACCORDING TO MATTITYAHUfrom you, from these do not turn away. 43 You have heard that itwas said, VAHAVTAH LREIACHAH (Youshall love your neighbor, VAYIKRA 19:18)and you shall hate your oyev (enemy). 44 But I say to you, Loveyour enemies, and offer tefillos (prayers)for the ones bringing redifah (persecution)upon you. 45 Do this so that you maybecome banim of your Av shbaShomayim, for His shemesh (sun) He makes to rise onthe ra’im (evil ones) and the tovim (goodones), and He sends His geshem (rain)upon the tzaddikim (righteous ones) andthe resha’im (unrighteous ones). 46 For if you have ahavah(love) for the ones who have ahavah foryou, what sachar (reward) do you have?Even the mochesim (tax-collectors) dothat, don’t they? 47 And if you give DrishatShalom (greetings) only to your Achim[b’Moshiach], what extraordinary thingare you doing? Don’t even the Goyim dothe same? 48 Therefore, be shlemim(complete), even as is your AvshbaShomayim.§PEREK VAV (CHAPTER SIX)27

28THE BESURAS HAGEULAHMOSHIACH ON AVODAHSHEBALEVBe careful that you don’tpractice your tzedakah (charity giving)before Bnei Adam in order to varf (showoff, flaunt) to be seen by Bnei Adam; forthen you have no sachar (reward) withyour Av shbaShomayim. 2 Therefore, whenever youcontribute tzedakah, don’t blow theshofar before you, as the tzevuim(hypocrites) do in the shuls and in thestreets, in order that they may receivekavod (glory) from Bnei Adam. Omein, truly I say to you, they have their sachar(reward). 3 But when you contributetzedakah, do not let your left hand haveda’as (knowledge) of what your right handis doing, 4 so that your tzedakahmay be nistar (hidden, in secret), andyour Av HaRoeh b’seter (Father, the Oneseeing in secret) [His] sachar (reward)will give you. 5 And whenever you daven(pray), do not be as the tzevuim(hypocrites); for they love to stand anddaven in the shuls and on the streetcorners so that they may be seen by an

ACCORDING TO MATTITYAHUaudience. Omein, truly I say to you, theyhave their sachar. 6 But you, whenever youdaven, enter into the secret place, yoursecret cheder, and, having shut yourdoor, offer tefillos to your Av Asher bSeter(Father Who is in Secret), and your AvhaRoeh b’seter (Father the One seeing insecret) [His] sachar will give you. r. 7 But when you daven, donot babble on and on maarich (extended,long-winded) and vacuously and withoutkavvanah (heartfelt direction, intention)like the Goyim. For the Goyim think thatin their verbosity their techinnah (prayersof supplication) will be heard. 8 Therefore, nisht azoi (notso)! Be different, for your Av has daas(knowledge) of what things you have needbefore you ask Him. 9 Therefore, when you offertefillos, daven like this, inthis manner:Avinu shbaShomayim (OurFather in heaven), yitkadash shmecha(hallowed be your Name). 10 Tavo malchutechah(Thy Kingdom come) Ye’aseh rtzonechah(Thy will be done) kmoh vaShomayim kenbaaretz (on earth as it is in heaven). 11 Es lechem chukeinu tenlanu hayom (Give us today our daily29

30THE BESURAS HAGEULAHbread), 12 u-slach lanu eschovoteinu kaasher salachnu (and forgiveus our debts as we forgive) gam anachnulachayaveinu (also our debtors). 13 V’al tvi’einu lideynisayon (And lead us not into temptation[Mt 26:41]) ki im chaltzeinu min harah(but deliver us from evil [or the evil one]).[Ki l’chah hamamlachah (for thine is theKingdom) vhagvurah (and the power)vhatiferet (and the glory) l’olmei olamim(forever). Omein].14 For if you give menmechila (pardon, forgiveness) for theirchattaim (sins), so also your AvshbaShomayim will give selicha(forgiveness) to you. 15 But if you do not givemen mechila (forgiveness), neither willyour chattaim receive selicha from yourAv. 16 And whenever youundergo a tzom (fast), don’t be like thesullen tzevuim (hypocrites), for theydisfigure their faces to parade their tzom(fast). Omein, truly I say to you, theyhave received their sachar (reward). 17 But when you undergoa tzom, anoint your rosh with shemen (oil)and wash your face 18 so that your tzom is

ACCORDING TO MATTITYAHUconcealed from Bnei Adam but not fromyour Av Asher b’Seter (Father Who is inSecret). And your Av HaRoeh b’seter(Father the One seeing in secret) will giveyou sachar. 19 Do not store up foryourselves otzarot (treasures) on haaretz, where moth and rust destroy and whereganavim (thieves) break in and steal. 20 But zamlet (collect) foryourselves otzarot (treasures) inShomayim, where neither moth nor rustdestroys, neither do ganavim break inand steal. 21 For where your otzar(treasure) is, there also will be your lev(heart). 22 The eye is the menorahof the basar. Therefore, if your eye isunblurred, then your whole basar will belighted. 23 But if yours is the ayinhoro (evil eye), your whole basar will be inchoshech (darkness). 24 No one is able to servetwo adonim (masters). For either he willhave sinah (hatred) for the one andahavah (love) for the other, or he will bedevoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve Hashem and Mammon(Money). 25 Therefore, I say to you,31

32THE BESURAS HAGEULAHDo not have a LEV ROGEZ (anxiousheart, [DEVARIM 28:65]) about your life, what you might wear or what you mightdrink, nor for your basar, what you mightput on. Is not life more than okhel (food)and basar more than malbush (clothing)? 26 Look to the OFHASHOMAYIM (birds of heaven, IYOV35:11), for they do not sow nor reap norgather into storehouses, and your AvshbaShomayim feeds them. Are youyourselves not worth more than they? 27 And who among youby a LEV ROGEZ (DEVARIM 28:65) isable to add to his life span one cubit? 28 And why have a LEVROGEZ (anxious heart) about malbush(clothing)? Observe the lilies of the field, how they grow. They do not labor norspin. 29 But I say to you that noteven Shlomo HaMelech in all his kavod(glory) was clothed as one of these. 30 And if Hashem thusclothes the grass of the field that existstoday and tomorrow is thrown into afurnace, how much more will he clotheyou, you ones of little emunah. 31 Therefore, do not have aLEV ROGEZ (DEVARIM 28:65), saying,What might we eat? or What might wedrink? or With what might we clothe

ACCORDING TO MATTITYAHUourselves? 32 For all these things theGoyim strive. For your AvshbaShomayim bavorn (anticipates) thatyou need all these things. 33 But seek first theMalchut Hashem and the TzidkatHashem, and all these things will beadded to you. 34 Therefore, do not have aLEV ROGEZ (DEVARIM 28:65) fortomorrow, for makhar (tomorrow) willcare for itself. Each day has enoughtzoros (troubles) of its own.§PEREK ZAYIN (CHAPTERSEVEN)Judge not lest you be judged. 2 For with what gezar din(verdict) you judge, you will be judged, and with what measure you measure, itwill be measured to you. 3 And why do you see thespeck in the eye of your Ach [b’Moshiach],but you do not consider the beam in yourown eye. 4 Or how will you say toyour Ach [b’Moshiach], Let me take thespeck out from your eye!(And, hinei! The beam is in33

34THE BESURAS HAGEULAHyour own eye!) 5 Tzevua (hypocrite), firsttake the beam out of your eye, and thenyou will see clearly enough to take out thespeck from the eye of your Ach[b’Moshiach]. 6 Do not give the kodesh(the holy) to kelevim (dogs) nor throw yourpearls before chazirim (swine), lest theywill trample them with their feet and turnaround and tear you into pieces. 7 Keep asking and it shallbe given to you; keep searching and youshall find; keep knocking and the deletshall be opened to you. 8 For everyone askingreceives, and the one searching finds, andto the one knocking the delet will beopened. 9 Or what man is thereamong you the ben of whom will ask forlechem (bread), and he will give him astone. 10 Or if he asks for a dag(fish), will give him a nachash (snake)? 11 Therefore, if you, beingra’im (evil ones), know to give matanottovot (good gifts) to your yeladim, howmuch more does your Av shbaShomayimgive hatov (the good) to the ones askingHim. 12 Therefore, everything

ACCORDING TO MATTITYAHUthat you wish Bnei Adam do for you, thusalso you do for them. For this is theTorah and the Neviim. 13 Enter through thederech (way) of the shaar hatzarut (gate ofnarrowness), for wide is the delet andbroad is the rekhov (street) leading toAvaddon (destruction, hell, Abbadon),and rabbim (many) are they who enterthrough it. 14 But tzar (narrow) is thedelet and constricted is the Derech (Way)that leads to Chayyim (life) and few arethe ones finding it. 15 Beware of the nevieihasheker (false prophets), who come toyou in the malbush (cloth
