Distinguished Professor AwardsAs part of the Agreement between the YSU-OEA (the faculty bargaining unit) and the administration, 24 faculty membersmay be chosen each year as Distinguished Professors in four areas—teaching, scholarship, University service, and publicservice. Nominations for the awards are made by students, faculty members, department chairs, and deans. A joint committeeof faculty (including past recipients of Distinguished Professor Awards) and representatives from the administration selectscandidates from among the nominees.
