The practical skills havebeen broken down into four major categories, of which the Test Control Officer will randomly select the prescribed numberof skill sheets per category using the matrix below. A minimum of two mandatory and five random skills sheets will beselected.Live Fire TestingLive fire is required for Firefighter II testing. Live fire testing shall be conducted in a controlled environment that simulates areal event. Live fire simulations shall incorporate the use of props emitting flames and heat. Live fire may be tested on adifferent day or at a different location than the other practical skills. If tested separately, the Test Control Officer shallregister the exam with the State Fire Marshal’s Office.Firefighter II Practical Skills Job Performance RequirementsSkillSheetNFPA SectionTasksMinimum Selection Required:2 Mandatory - 5 RandomMandatory Practical 5.3.3General Skill Requirements: Determineneed for CommandFire Department Communications:Communicate need for assistanceFire Ground Operations: Assemble a foamfire streamFire Department Operations: Extinguish anignitable liquid fireFire Ground Operations: Coordinate aninterior attack line for a structure fireground level or above ground levelFire Ground Operations: Coordinate aninterior attack line for a structure firebelow grade or basement or attic fireFire Ground Operations: Control aflammable gas cylinder elect 1 Skill Sheetfrom 1, 3, or 4 and1 Skill Sheet from5, 6, 7, or 8categoriesMandatoryMandatoryType 1 Random Practical -420-077 (R 3/20)Rescue Operations: Extricate victimentrapped in a motor vehicleRescue Operations: Set up and operatehydraulic rescue spreader ram, orcombination toolRescue Operations: Set up and operate aPneumatic Chisel/HammerRescue Operations: Set up and operate ahydraulic jack or airbagRescue Operations: Assist rescueoperation teamsRandomRandomRandomSelect 2 SkillSheets from thiscategoryRandomRandom1
