“I Worked During My ShiftAnd Went To School At Night!”manufacturing floor and calledeveryone to a meeting. Then heintroduced a man in a suit whoI’d never seen before, and saidhe was a vice president or something, I don’t recall exactly. Theman in the suit announced thecompany would be closing ourplant in eight months and moving all its manufacturing overseas. I remember feeling like Ihad been kicked in the stomach, and hearing loud booing as theman said the company wouldpay for educational retrainingfor those who wanted it.I cried as I drove home, wondering how I would pay mymortgage and take care of mykids without a paycheck orhealth insurance. That night, asI lay in bed unable to sleep, Idecided to turn this problemover to Jesus. “Lord,” I prayed,“Please help me work this out soI can keep my home and providefor my loved ones.”The next months were hectic. Iworked during my shift andwent to school at night learningabout computers. By the timemy company began closing itsdoors, I was offered a good jobworking with the computer system of a hospital in the nexttown. As I look back, it was agreat career move for me. Ithank Jesus for answering myprayers and steering me towarda new and better opportunity!I have been a FellowshipMember for more years than Iwant to admit! My mother gaveme my first Faith Magazine andI immediately was hooked by itswarm, friendly stories andinspiring Scripture.I never imagined I might bewriting Fellowship with a storyof my own, but life has a way ofsurprising us, doesn’t it?My story starts many yearsback, when I was younger. I hadalready been married anddivorced by then, raising twochildren by myself with helpfrom my mom. I never went tocollege, but found a good, solidjob working at a manufacturingplant. It paid me a decent wage, enough that I could buy a modest home and provide for mykids. I felt like I had overcomethe odds and accomplishedsomething to be on my own andable to support myself. Then, as I said, life came andsurprised me.I’ll never forget, it was aThursday afternoon, about anhour before the end of my shift, when my boss came down to theMember Annette I., Indiana6

A friendof mine invited me to startreceiving Faith Magazine and Iam so glad they did. It has beenone of my constant companions.Every inspiring page helps mealong and brightens my dayfrom beginning to end. I especially love the Daily Bible Versesand Prayers for all through theday. It helps me be more knowledgeable about God’s Word, andmostly helps me to become closer to, and commune with, theMaster. I also share them withmy family members and coworkers. The Verses and Prayers helpto keep me on track and mindfulof what I do, say and how I carrymyself throughout the day. Italso helps me to keep my mindon the Lord throughout the day.I also love the prayers becauseI’m not only praying for myselfand my loved ones, I’m alsoprayingforothers,myFellowship Friends all aroundthe World and that’s how itshould be . . . “people caringabout people.” Thank you somuch! I thank God for you.I also love the Bible Readings.I have daily Bible readings frommy Sunday School book atchurch, but when I sometimesdon’t get my Sunday Schoolbooklet on time, I refer to ourFellowship Bible readings. Theygive me peace of mind and in myheart.Thank you for your specialprayers for me, too.For such a small magazine, it(FAITH) has so much interestingand good news. You Can Have No Better FriendsThan Jesus And His Father, God!On the first page of thisFAITH we wrote that “You’veGot A Friend.” And, just as wewant you to think of us as a goodfriend, Dear Member, we hopeyou think of Jesus and HisFather, God, in a similar manner.Wait just a minute, you mightsay, adding that you pray toJesus and His Father to help yousolve problems or some otherissues. Could they really be yourFriends as well?We think they can, and here’swhy. A friend is someone youtrust and confide in . . . someonewho you know will listen to yourconcerns in confidence and onlyuse that information to help you, never to cause harm.Doesn't that sound like Jesusand His Father, God? You knowthey want only the best for you,and will stand beside all whobelieve in them. They listen toyour prayers and reveal howthey can help or lead you to asolution -- always at just theproper time.In fact, in this Scripture John15:15, Jesus calls His Disciples“friends” rather than servants. He trusted them to use the information He preached for the goodof God’s kingdom.“Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knowethnot what his lord doeth: but Ihave called you friends; for allthings that I have heard of myFather I have made known untoyou.”So, knowing Jesus is yourfriend, the other side of thequestion is . . . Are you Hisfriend as well?We know He listens to you,Dear Member, but do you listento Him as well? Do you wantHim to know what’s in yourheart? To be a friend of Jesus, simplyfollow and listen to His teachings. Then, you will be in a position to talk sincerely with otherswho are curious about what theLord offers those who believe inHim. For the truth is, you canhave no better Friends thanJesus and His Father, God!9

“I Just Knew Not ToEnd My Life That Day!”Dear Life-Study Fellowship,My name is William and I amwriting you to say Thank Youand to inform your readers thatyour Faith Magazine saved mylife!I am an only child. My grandparents have passed away, andso has my father. Unfortunately,my mother is not very supportive. In my youth, my grandmother would always be inchurch or talking about thegoodness of the Lord. I wouldoften see her reading Life-StudyFellowship’s magazine when Iwould visit her.It has been several years sinceI lost my grandmother, and Ilater moved into her home andbegan to remodel it. I ran into somany obstacles, and hateful people, that I became depressed andoverwhelmed with anxiety andfear. After years of dealing withthat, I had decided to end my lifeby a drug overdose. I had evenplanned and contemplated itwhen I found myself alone onThanksgiving. Knowing I wouldalso be alone on Christmas andNew Years as well was just toomuch.Well, while preparing thehouse for my “departure,” inone of the drawers of a dresserthat had belonged to my grandfather I found an old copy ofFaith Magazine. It was an edition with the month ofNovember, and in its stories wasinformation that related to me.As I read each page I could feelmy inner strength grow and thefear began to fade away. I justknew not to end my life that day,but to devote my life to the Lordinstead. And, I figured if this LifeStudy Fellowship magazine wasin my grandfather’s things hemust have been a believerbefore he passed away. So, I am now saved and I amlistening to God’s Word. He hassent my inner demons away.I am enclosing a contributionto express my thanks and dowhat I can to help you with yourgood work. Also, please send me anotherFaith Magazine! I found inspiration in its pages and want tocontinue reading it.Member William V., North Carolina10

The Lord’s Loving Support CanHelp Us Accomplish Anything!Dear Member, do you ever feelthere is a big problem or situation that affects you, for whichthere’s no solution? Are youoverburdened with this concernto the point you don’t know whatto do?If so, let us bring you somegood news . . . Jesus loves youand He is standing by to help.Yes, we really mean that!In the Bible passage of John13:34, Jesus tells His Disciples. . .“A new commandment I giveunto you, That ye love oneanother; as I have loved you, thatye also love one another.”So, right in that Verse, you seeJesus declaring His love for us.It is a boundless love that helpsus solve any problem and conquer our fears. And when wereturn His love in faith, there isnothing He won’t help us accomplish. The loving support of theLord can help us with issuesinvolving health, prosperity, guidance and many otheraspects of our daily lives. And yet, there are still manydoubters. How can Jesus trulylove all of us, they may ask. That’s because they have eyes, but can’t see the wonderfuleffects of His love on us, God’schildren.Nor do they realize the awesome benefit of following Jesus’commandment to love oneanother, Dear Friend. That trulyis one of the biggest lessonsfrom the Lord, and one of thehardest to accomplish. Because, who hasn’t run into people wedon’t like? Who hasn’t dealt withfolks who treat us badly? Thoseexperiences are a fact of life. And yet, we don’t have to dropdown to that level, Dear Member. We can remain calm and meetsuch unpleasant behavior with asmile and friendly demeanor. Inthat way, we honor the spirit ofJesus’ teaching to love oneanother. And you know what? Morethan likely the person who wasunpleasant to you before willreconsider their actions whenyou don’t respond in kind. That’s the benefit we mentionedearlier, a true gift that comesfrom the Lord!11

“How I Learned We ShouldNever Question God’s Goodness!”God came through for us at theeleventh hour! At least, that’swhat He did for my husband andme, and I want to tell you allabout it, dear Fellow Members. My husband lost his job afterChristmas one year because thestore in which he was the assistant manager did not turn in thesales that the owners had charted. He was so disappointed, because he really had workedhard. But the store actually didnot carry the right merchandisefor the neighborhood, and hewas never able to convince theowners of that. It was only longafter he left that they realized hewas right. By then, God and ourFellowship had taken him farbeyond what that store evercould have. When my husband left his jobat the store, he didn’t find it easyto get another job at age 57. Itwas just about that time . . .while he was still job hunting. . .that I wrote about him needingto find a new job on Page 17 ofFaith Magazine and sent thatpage back to Fellowship’sSpecial Help Department.Well, would you believe thatafter I wrote to you, my husbanddid receive a job offer. It was in agrocery chain and the hourswere hard and long. Actually, itseemed like a worse job than theone he had before. I was temptedto ask God, “Is this the job thatis supposed to be the answer tomy prayer?” But I kept silent, because I knew He was going totake care of things.Meanwhile, my husband’snew job was going to send him toanother town for training, andthen we would have to move toanother city. I would have to staybehind and sell our furniturebecause it wouldn’t pay to moveit such a distance. We weren’tlooking forward to this new jobwith great joy. Then came our eleventh hour. The night before my husbandwas to leave, we got a phone callfrom a friend in our city. It wasabout a different job in a grocerystore in a good location. My husband could not have been happier!Needless to say, he took thisnew job and has done wonderfulwith it. That was how I learnedwe never should question God’sgoodness and should wait forHis blessing. My heartfeltthanks go out to my FellowMembers who prayed for us, too!Member Betty B.16
