The College is primarily intended to serve residents of the City ofCharlottesville, and the counties of Albemarle,Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, Nelson, and northernBuckingham County.The following statement was adopted by theCollege Board on January 3, 2001:PVCC strives to meet the educational andtraining needs of people with differing abilities,education, experiences, and individual goalsthrough a variety of curricula and services.PVCC provides a strong counseling program toassist students in making sound decisionsregarding occupational, educational, andpersonal goals.Counselors work with students to guide them tothe curriculum that best suits their needs andinterests. The college also provides services inpre-college and freshman orientation, careercounseling, financial aid, testing, veterans’affairs, and student activities.The college operates on the semester systemwith 16-week fall and spring semesters and ashorter summer session.
