MISSION STATEMENT:The mission of the South HadleyPublic Schools is to enhance livesthrough teaching and learning.Therefore, we pledge to educatestudents in a challenging,supportive learning community inwhich each student strives to be alife-long learner, to develop her/hisfull potential, and to become aresponsible citizen in a diverse andglobal society.

Focus will be on computationwithout a calculator, graphs, estimations, unfamiliarvocabulary and solving multi-step problems.Bio: new standards will be implemented on MCASthis year. AP Bio scores have risen over the pastthree years (mean score 2.5 in 2016 to 3.44 in 2019).

Focus will beon comprehending complex literary and informational texts,and producing clear and coherent writing which is appropriateto task, purpose and audience.Math: Grade 3 and Grade 4 students outperformed the stateaverage (2%/ 7%). Grade 2 focus will be on addition/subtraction, understanding place value, measuring length.Grade 3 focus will be on multiplication and division, placevalue, measurement. Grade 4 focus will be on using fouroperations with whole numbers, using place value, fractions,interpreting data and classifying shapes.
