Most workover rigshave a diaphragm installed on thedead line that works the weightindicator. Also, some rigs calibratethe weight indicator is by knowinghow much dry footage of certain asize tubing is in the well. Forexample 2 3/8” tubing weighing 4.70lbs. /ft. in a 3,000’ empty wellshould weight 14,100 lbs. plus theweight of the blocks, elevators andbales. So this would be 4.7 x 3,000’ 8,000 22,100 lbs, the weightindicator should indicate 22,100lbs.Inspection Checklist ITEMSINDICATE COMPLIANCE AS FOLLOWS: YES (Y)NO (N) NOT APPLICABLE (N/A) REMARKSNOTE: WEIGHT INDICATORDIAPHRAGM IS TO BE SECURED TOTHE DEAD LINE WITH A SAFETYCABLE OR SAFETY CHAIN.
