In August 2015,Newsweek ranked Ridge number 37 of the top 500 high schools in the country. In May 2015, U.S.News & World Report named the high school as number 20 in New Jersey. Also in 2015, TheWashington Post ranked Ridge number eight on the list of America’s Most Challenging HighSchools. Forbes consistently names the district as one of its “25 Best Schools For Your HousingBuck.” In 2014, N.J. Monthly magazine ranked Ridge number 13 on the list of New Jersey’s TopPublic High Schools.FACULTYCURRICULUMBernards Township has a dedicated and highly trained instructional staff who welcome thechallenges of its dynamic student population. Ridge High School values its 12:1 student-teacherratio and 240:1 counselee-counselor ratio. Forty-one of the 158 instructional staff members holdbachelor degrees, 110 hold master degrees, and 7 have doctorates.The curriculum of the Bernards Township School District culminates with the high school programof comprehensive course offerings. The district takes pride in the level of academic rigor that isprovided to students in all areas, from fine and performing arts to the most advanced science andmathematics classes. Twenty-four Advanced Placement offerings and 35 courses offered at thehonors level provide the students with expansive opportunities to challenge themselves beyond thecollege preparatory level. The students benefit from working with a faculty that stays current withpedagogical and practical instructional practices through graduate school attendance and throughparticipation in the district’s Staff College program. Students work closely with staff membersduring tutorial periods and through mentoring programs.
