Program Description

Strength of our program Our education-oriented medicine programs focus on thetraining of excellent physicians in a supportive atmosphere. Our faculty are accessible and are excellent bedsideteachers. Our residents are exposed to a variety of medical cases overa diverse patient population. Our curriculum is challenging, but it is directed towardhelping you become the most competent physician possible

Resident Continuity ClinicThe continuity clinicprovides the opportunityfor residents to assumethe role of a primarycare provider. Eachresident is scheduled fora one ½ day clinic eachweek where they followa panel of THEIR OWNpatients.

Simulation Lab

The Clinical Simulation Laboratory (CSL)is a state-of-the-art learning spacewhere residents can practice procedureson simulated patients ie manequins.

Travel/Conference ReimbursementThe Department of Medicine provides 450.00 during the 2nd and 450.00 during the3rd year of residency to help defray the cost ofattending an approved educational conferenceand/or purchasing medical educational material.The Residency Program pays 300.00 for theMKSAP and ACP membership year 1.In addition, monies are available from theDepartment to support residents presenting atAmerican College of Physicians meetings.

UniformsResidents are provided with whitecoats, which will be launderedwithout charge.MealsAll meals will be charged at adiscount rate. Meal tickets areprovided for night call.

Exercise FacilityFor a fee, use of the on-campus fitnesscenter and swimming pool for self andfamily is encouraged.
