It is located in the mostpicturesque pristine setting beside the Beas River, 2KM away at Bharmoti. Since its inception, thecollege has risen from strength to strength and has progressively made its mark as one of the leadinginstitution of higher learning in Himachal Pradesh. Bachelor of Business AdministrationBachelor of Business Administration (BBA)programme was introduced by the HimachalPradesh University, Shimla in the UniversityCollege of Business Studies with theobjectives of training and managementpositions.On the same pattern, we are offering theprogramme at your doorstep.The duration of (BBA) is three years, spreadover six semesters. The students will be exemptedfrom the above mentioned dress code onWednesday only.Eligibility for Promotion (BBA & BCA)a.b.c.d.e.f.g.h.i.j.Ragging in any form.Graffiti i.e. any sort of writing on the walls/blackboard/ rooms etc.Damaging the college property in any manner.Loitering about the corridors and causingdisturbance to the classes.Possession or use of drugs and indulgence insmoking in the campus.Bringing outsiders in the college.Sticking any kind of bills/ notices without theprior permission of the principal.Creating any kind of violence or nuisance inthe campus.Coming without I- Card in the College.Use of the mobile phones by the students inand around the classroom(s) and Exam Hall(s)is strictly prohibited.

NOTE:i)ii)Stringent action will be taken against thestudents found guilty of breaching conduct ordiscipline rules in the college, by the collegeadministration.Defaulters including the students whose nameshave been struck – off from the roll (s) are notallowed to enter the college premises untilexonerated or readmitted appropriately.Attendancei. At least 75% attendance in the lectures iscompulsory for appearing in the universityexams.ii. An irregular students or one who remainsabsent continuously for 7 days from theCollege / any elective subject , his her namewill be struck off twice, he/ she will not bere- admitted to the collegeiii. The Principal reserves the right ofexpulsion/suspension of any student if thesituation warrants so.NOTE:Students participating in inter- collegecompetitions should note that the practice /rehearsal timing should be either before theclasses (early morning) or after the classes(evening) because all such activities do notsubstitute academics/ studies.Library RulesEvery student will be issued an Identity Card.Since “I-Card” is the only medium to identify/differentiate a bonafide college student froman outsider, every student must always carry itwith him/her and must produce it s) and college function(s) etc.Otherwise he/she will be considered anoutsider and will be punished accordingly.If I-Card is lost, a duplicate card will be issuedonly after an FIR is registered with the nearestpolice station and an original copy thereof isappended with such a request.Rs. 20/-, are to be deposited for a duplicateIdentity . To appear in University Examination, astudent will have to fulfill 75% lecturecondition (75% in theory and 75% inpractical). The attendance will be countedfrom the first day of the commencement of theteaching work/ admission.One Mid Term Test will be conducted in themonth of August / September. The college sports personshave also the access to the gymnasium facility.Cultural ActivitiesActivity Day: it is celebrated once in a weekto motivate the students to participate in theactivities like quiz, debate, seminars etc.Talent Hunt: it has been proposed that atalent hunt will be organized to provide aplatform for the students to show their talentin the performing arts. On the basis of it, thestudents will be selected to represent thecollege in the various cultural activities to beheld in HPU, Youth Festival.Youth Festival: it is an inter –college activityorganized by the HP university in fourcategories/groups-I, II, III & IV, Studentshaving highly commended positions in theYouth Festival are given reservation in thePG Courses of HP University.Inter- Faculty Cultural Function“Bodhikala”An inter-faculty cultural function is held forthe students to represent their faculties for therunning trophy in the various activities basedon the format of HP University, Youth

Festival.Club and SocietiesThe college has Cultural Activities Club,Environment Club, Eco-club and SubjectSocieties to celebrate the various notified daysand event to educate the students throughoutthe year. In addition to this to inculcate thequalities of leadership, social service,discipline and patriotism among the youth, thefollowing units are being run in college:The interested student can get enrolled inthe following units/clubs and reap thebenefit of extra weight age of marks.NSS, NCC, Rovers & Rangers and RedRibbon ClubRovers and Rangers is a worldwideassociation of well-disciplined volunteers. Ithas two wings, one for girls (Rangers) and onefor the boys (Rovers) having 32 seats in eachwing. Students, who obtain a NIPUNcertificate, are eligible for 2% marks weightage while seeking employment in the railwaysand other government institutions.Red Ribbon ClubThe club aims at launching an exhaustivecampaign against AIDS. It educates andsensitizes the college youth and general publicabout AIDS. Any college student can getregistered with this club.NSSPresently the college has one NSS Unitcomprising of 100 students. 33% seats arereserved for the girls. Students who attend 240hours of social service and attend “7 days”special camp are given the weight age of 2%marks at the time of admission in P.G Coursesof H.P. University.Career Guidance, Counseling andPlacement CellThe UGC formulated ‘Career Guidance,Counseling and Placement Cell’ has beenconstituted in the college with an aim toprepare the students for the job or self-

reliance. The cell consists of a core committeeand various faculty wise sub-committeeswhich undertake the following activities fromtime to time.1. up-discussion.Interactive sessions etc. to raise the level ofthe inherent capabilities of the students.2. In order to enhance the communication skillsand soft skills of the student, the variousactivities make the students confident enoughto face the interview/group discussions.3. Students are given awareness about theprospectus of higher education in their future.They are also made aware of the jobopportunities available in their stream/subjectin the market/industry.The cell provides the placement opportunitiesto the students by facilitating the variouscompanies/private firms for the conduction ofthe job programmes/tests/interviews etc.Pre-Admission Guidance & Counselingcommittee’ provides pre-admission coachingto all the admission seekers particularly in thehumanities. The committee has to providethem their expert inputs regarding the choiceof the subjects.Tutorial GroupAfter the admission, every student is made amember of a specific tutorial group convenedby a member of a specific tutorial group. Asper the convenience of the students, everygroup organizes at least one or two meetingsevery month where the tutor give specialattention to the students by impartingnecessary guidance, increasing generalawareness and addressing their academic aswell as personal problems.College Magazine, NALANDATo nourish the creativity among the students,the college magazine “NALANDA” ispublished every year. It has many sections likeHindi, Sanskrit, Pahari, English, ScienceandCommerce,ManagementandComputer Science etc. One student-editor foreach section is appointed in the beginning ofthe academic session.Teacher’s AppraisalThe Teachers are evaluated by their studentstwice during the academic session through a‘Prescribed Feedback Performa’.Annual Prize Distribution FunctionAnnual Prize Distribution Function of thecollege is organized in the month ofFebruary/March every year.
