FPA Approved Degree ListFOR ENTRY TO CFP CERTIFICATION PROGRAM or FPA MEMBERSHIP – JUNE 2014The Financial Planning Education Council (FPEC) is an independent body responsible for raising the standard of financialplanning education. FPEC have approved the courses listed below as satisfying the education entry pre-requisite for the CFP Certification Program.To ensure that courses are academically rigorous and reflect current financial planning practice, approval is granted for a finiteperiod of time. This is expressed as registration renewal due date which is listed in Education Provider column. It is the educationprovider’s responsibility to re-apply to us for a further approval period. You need to be enrolled before this date for us to consideryour qualifications. If your course is not on the list below, you can apply for a pre-enrolment approval via our website.Students commencing an approved course before the registration expiry date are allowed to complete the qualification within theEducation Provider’s rules. Graduates of programs should therefore also refer to the expired registration list.Please note, Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Graduate Diploma studies on their own do not satisfy the educationrequirements for admission as a CFP practitioner unless held together with a Bachelor or Masters degree.Exemptions are only available for CFP 2, CFP 3 and CFP 4 and are for study within 10 years. There are no exemptions forCFP 1 or CFP Certification units.“Cross credits” are credits granted by education providers towards a degree for members who have completed all CFP CertificationProgram units. They are reverse exemptions, ie credits towards a post graduate qualification. Arrangements should be confirmed foreach specific situation. Some cross credits may be granted on an individual basis where a formal arrangement has not been agreedwith the FPA.
