ANNOUNCEMENTSWelcome (back) Sun!CJ is excited to announce the return of Coach Sunin fall 2022!Sun Yan Hong was one of CJ’s most revered andbeloved instructors, gracing us with her skillsunder the big top from 2004 - 2015. She originallyjoined CJ following an illustrious circus career withsuch credits as China’s Flag Circus and Cirquedu Soleil’s Dralion. She is experienced in eventplanning, fire dancing/ performance, bodypainting/ makeup, stage/costume design andconstruction, circus arts, business management,creative sales, and artistic management.NEW Class: Circus X-Treme for Teen BoysThis introductory/intermediate class is for boys looking to take circus to the max. Get a taste ofacts like Teeterboard, Russian Swing, Hand to Hand, Wheel of Steel, and more. Payin full at check out. We accept all major credit cards. Enrollin a payment plan. Payment plans charge 50% of the total at check out. The remaining balance isauto-charged on the second billing date (typically the third Friday of classes each session.) Ifyou have a credit available on your account, you will have the option to first apply the credit to thebalance due before paying the remaining balance at check out.8

HOW TO REGISTERStep 1: Choose Use this session guide to selectyour classes. Choose a class that fits yourinterest, schedule, and skill levelby noting the genre, time and day,and pre-requisites of the class.Step 2: Register Registration is only online.If you are enrolling more thanone student, we ask that youplease register their classes inseparate carts. Registering for a class does notguarantee class placement. Step 3: WaitWait for confirmation. This maytake up to four weeks after you havecompleted registration. Once registration has closed, TeamAdmin begins to process requests. Watch your email for any questionswe may have and for your final classconfirmation email.9

HOW TO REGISTERPre-registration:This is the process of creating a student accounton our registration software, Active Network. Includes a non-refundable 45 fee that onlyneeds to be completed once per academic year. Pre-register by clicking here, or on our websiteunder CLASSES and HOW TO REGISTER All students who have completed pre-registrationwill receive an email with a link to register forsummer session classes. New Students: Must complete pre-registration before registeringfor classes. Not sure which class to try first? We reccommenda class in the “Experience” genre that allows you tosample many different circus acts over the course ofa session!Returning Students:Returning students will receive classrecommendations based on coach feedback. Theseare either recommendations to join a new class, ormove-ups into the next level of a class. Please note: registering for a class or level thatyou do not meet the pre-requisites for will greatlyslow down the registration process. 10

Colors:Each act is marked to denote the level of pre-requisites needed forthe FIRST level of that act.GREEN classes require no additional class pre-requisites other than meeting the age requirement.New to our program? Start here!ORANGE classes are beginning-level classes that require a skill/class building prerequisite. Theseacts usually require participating in a non-performing class or the first level of an act to gain the experience necessary to move up.PINK classes require previous experience to begin training in the act. Look carefully at the prerequisites listed to determine your eligibility.AQUA classes require an ADVANCED level of training even for the lowest level. These classes areoften marked as “invitation only.”WHITE invitation-only classes are advanced classes which have very specific skill requirements.Depending on the class, this could include base/flyer experience, partner experience/match-up,emotional maturity, performance experience, size, experience with a specific apparatus, etc. Assuch, coaches need to have experience with or evaluate students prior to invitation into a class. Ifyou feel that your student is eligible for an invitation-only class to which they have not received arecommendation, or to express interest in these classes in the future, please contactadminstaff@circusjuventas.org.Letters:Each act has an ACT CODE that begins with letters. These letters standfor the name of the act. For example, “SS” stands for Side by Side.Numbers:Each class has two sets of numbers separated by a hyphen. The numbersbefore the hyphen are the LEVEL of the class. They numbers after thehyphen are the class SECTION.Registration Tip!Sections are associated with a specific dayand time. We have many popular classeswith multiple sections within a week. Whenregistering for a class with multiple sections,use different sections as alternate classes asa way to indicate order of preference in theevent your requested class is full.GW 0000-01Act Code ExampleThe letters in this act code stand for “GermanWheel.” German Wheel is an act with four differentlevels. This is the lowest level of the act, as denotedby the “0000” before the hyphen. This class is verypopular and three different sections are offered.The example class code is for section 1, which weknow from the numbers “01” after the hyphen.11
