OurassociationsThe EAO is one of the leading associationswithin the field of implant dentistry in theworld, aiming to improve the quality ofpatient care by bridging the gap betweenscience and clinical practice.EAO achieves this through: promoting and facilitating clinical applications of osseointegration for thebenefit of patients all over the world romoting the advancement of treatpment methods in reconstructive surgery and prosthetic rehabilitationbased on the principles of osseointegration and related disciplines romoting and initiating research intopimproved clinical procedures for rehabilitation as a consequence of osseointegration romoting international exchange ofpknowledge and understanding of thetechniques and research in the field ofosseointegration and related disciplines romoting the publication of researchpfindings and other materials as part ofcontinuing education for the benefit ofmembers and interested organisationsThe Swiss Society for Oral Implantology(SSOI) has been an official professionalassociation of the Swiss Dental Society (SSO) since 1984. It has set itself thegoal of promoting and further developing dental implantology. In particular,the SGI is committed to informing thepopulation about the opportunities andpossibilities of implantology.The SSOI currently has 509 membersand all dentists interested in implantology can become members. Untilthe end of 2005, the SSOS was part ofthe Swiss Society of Odontostomatology(SSO). In 2006, it has been recognized asa specialized society recognized by theFederal Office of Public Health (OFSP).The aims of the company are the promotion of quality in oral surgery andstomatology in the field of teaching, research, postgraduate training and continuing education.The society has 340 ordinary and extraordinary members from all over Switzerland.The Swiss Society of ReconstructiveDentistry (SSRD) has been part of theSwiss Society of Dentists (SSO) since1985. Its objective is to promote anddevelop the activity of reconstructivedentistry. The SSRD works in particularto inform the population of the opportunities and possibilities offered by reconstructive dentistry.To date, the SSRD has more than 550members, including general practitionersand SSO specialists in reconstructive dentistry as well as scientists. Welcometo GenevaThe European Association for Osseointegration is pleased to announce detailsof its 29th congress, which will take place in Geneva with a digital programmefor those who cannot attend in person.The congress is being held in partnership with the Swiss Society of Oral Implantology (SGI), the Swiss Society of Periodontology (SSP), the Swiss Societyfor Oral Surgery and Stomatology (SSOS) and the Swiss Society of Reconstructive Dentistry (SSRD).Geneva is home to many international organisations including the United Nations, the World Health Organisation and the Red Cross. Reflecting their goalsof global collaboration, the theme of the EAO congress will be Uniting nationsthrough innovations. It will focus on the role of new technology in disruptingthe way we communicate, work and learn.The programme will feature renowned speakers who will share their knowledge on the application of digital technologies across all aspects of implantdentistry. Sessions will compare current digital techniques with conventionaltechniques, and will provide clinically relevant take-home recommendations.As well as the daily live programme, the digital evening event will feature additional content, available to a global online audience. Anyone attending in person will be able to participate in both parts of the programme, experiencingtwo educational events at the same time.Geneva 2022 will be a unique opportunity to learn from the best.
