AVIA 327 Course SyllabusCOURSE SYLLABUSAVIA 327COMMERCIAL FLIGHT IIICOURSE DESCRIPTIONAn overview of all Commercial maneuvers and procedures within the FAA PTS Standards. This coursewill provide thorough preparation for the FAA Commercial Pilot Checkride. Approximately 40 flighthours.RATIONALEThis course, in conjunction with AVIA 325 and 326, will prepare the student to complete the FAR Part141 Commercial Pilot Syllabus and pass the FAR Part 141 Commercial Pilot Practical Exam (checkride).The practical flight training consists of scheduled weekly flight lessons with an LUSOA approved FAACertified Flight Instructor. Flight lessons are scheduled as simulator or airplane lessons, including abefore-flight briefing and an after-flight debriefing. AVIA 327 Course SyllabusB.Course Requirements ChecklistAfter reading the Course Syllabus and Student Expectations, the student will completethe related checklist found in Module/Week 1.C.Discussion Board Forums (8)Discussion boards are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student isrequired to provide a thread in response to the provided prompt for each forum. Eachthread must be a minimum of 250 words and demonstrate course-related knowledge. Inaddition to the thread, the student is required to reply to 5 other classmates’ threads. Eachreply must be a minimum of 75 words.D.Stage 3 Phases 6–8 Progress Checks (3)The student will submit a summary detailing progress made for each of the stage phases.In addition to the summary, the student must have his/her flight instructor email feedbackto the course instructor.E.Progress Questions (7)The student will account for the total number of ground, flight, and/or simulator activitiescompleted at the Flight Training Affiliate. The student will receive full credit foranswering the question regardless of the number of activities that were completed.F.Certificate SubmissionVI.In order to pass this class the student must complete Commercial training at a Flight TrainingAffiliate.
