JUNE 2019Page 3The May Sun Shines onThree-Club EventArticle by Ginny Clark, Columbus GRS;Photos by Justin Derita, Columbus GRSAfter a very rainy night, we had a beautiful sunny day forthe Three-Club meeting at the Springfield home of Dannyand Dawn Wells. Columbus Garden Railway Society, the Miami Valley GRS, and the Northern Ohio GRS cametogether for a Swap Meet and Potluck Luncheon onSaturday, May 18. The rain had caused some flooding inthe field where we had parked in the past, but Judy Rothvery kindly provided a shuttle service between the Wells’home and a nearby parking lot. When we arrived there were several tables set up forthe swap meet and many deals were already taking place.Trains were running in the back yard and were lookinggreat over the newly installed AstroTurf. Dawn explainedthat the AstroTurf made the railroad upkeep much easier. Now instead of spending several hours a day pullingweeds, they can just blow the debris off and have morefun actually running the trains.TheThreeThree-Club Event continued on page 4ClubEvent
