Recruitment of a Diverse Student PopulationWelcome to the 2017 IUPUI School of NursingEntering Student Survey ReportThe Entering Student Survey is a yearly survey administered during New StudentOrientation sessions. Students complete the online Qualtrics-based survey during adedicated block of time to ensure they have enough time to complete the survey. Thesurvey is voluntary and students are encouraged to complete it to ensure that weunderstand the support and resources they need to make successful transitions to IUPUI.The Nursing pre-majors as well as direct admits are combined in this report because of alow number of respondents directly admitted into the School of Nursing. Of the 435beginning freshmen Nursing students in the 2017 cohort, 201 completed the EnteringStudent Survey. The response rate was 46%.Key Highlights OverallIUPUI’s VisionTo be a leading urbanresearch institutionrecognized for the success ofits students, its advances inhealth and life sciences, andits intellectual, economic, and cultural contributions tothe well-being of the citizensof Indianapolis, the state ofIndiana, and beyond.
