The Government isproviding 200 million over four years for the South-East QueenslandHospitals Package.This funding will facilitate detailed planning and preparatory works forfuture redevelopments at Logan, Caboolture and Ipswich hospitals, newadolescent mental health facilities, and an immediate expansion of theemergency department (ED) at Caboolture Hospital.The 19.6 million allocated for the Caboolture ED expansion willprovide fourteen new treatment spaces, four consultation rooms and atreatment room. This will almost double the current ED capacity and willfacilitate better services and reduce waiting times and overcrowding.Preliminary works have commenced and are expected to be completedby December 2018.budget.qld.gov.au
