Experiential Learningand Simulation CenterSamford University College of Health Sciences samford.edu/healthsciences13The College of Health Sciences’ Experiential Learning and Simulation Centerspans 22,000 square feet and offers discipline-specific and interdisciplinarylearning opportunities across the simulation continuum. Students at varyinglevels of experience are engaged in these facilities—from working with lowfidelity models and interacting with standardized patients to immersingthemselves in complex high fidelity simulations.Our extensive inventory of task trainers, medium fidelity models and high fidelityhuman patient simulators creates optimal learning environments designed toimprove technical skills, clinical judgment, decision making, communication andteamwork.The center’s High Fidelity Simulation Suite is comprised of five rooms equippedwith different health care manikins that allows simulations of complex healthcare situations. The suite includes individual observation rooms andconference rooms designated for debriefing.
