6. Off-campus Study Programs(Overseas and Domestic Student Exchangeand Study Abroad Programs)

Study at APU6.1 Overview of Off-campus Study ProgramsAPU education stresses the elements of knowledge, experience, and exchange. Classroomlectures are useful for acquiring knowledge; however, it is also necessary to provide studentswith off-campus opportunities to gain experience and participate in exchange activities.CurriculumMoving away from the standard system of teaching and learning based solely on classroomlectures, APU designs programs to focus on experience and practical learning. These arecalled Off-campus Study Programs. There are a wide range of Off-campus Study Programs tomeet the needs of students at various stages during their four years of study. Off-campusStudy Programs do not simply provide an opportunity for you to apply the knowledge you learnin the classroom. They provide an opportunity for you to go beyond the learning experience asyou reflect on your academic plans and career development. APU offers a range of programsfrom domestic and international fieldwork to internships. The University also makes use of itsvast global networks to provide a wide variety of regional and international cooperativeprograms. We strongly urge all students to take advantage of at least one Off-campus StudyPrograms as part of their four-year course of study.Course RegistrationOff-campus Study Programs at APUExaminations and GradingAcquire 2 degrees in 4 yearsDouble Degree ProgramsWork experiencein Japan and overseasLong term study abroad at an overseasand domestic partner universityInternshipStudent ExchangeResearch AbroadAPU Global Research ProgramField Study /Field Research ProjectSpread Japan in SouthEast AsiaBusiness InternshipMajorstudiesNihongo PartnersExperience an educationalsetting overseasCareerSeminar SubjectsApply specialized knowledgeEnhance your knowledge by utilizing yourAPU studies on the forefront of businessSENDCareer development throughlanguage study and internship overseasExperience collaborativelearning overseasSECONDCross-culturalLanguagestudyService LearningIntensive language study overseasAP Language ImmersionTake Required English Courses AbroadEXCEEDReceive an American liberal arts educationGCPEnglish study in partner universityEXPLOREOff-campus StudyProgramsFIRSTOverview of Off-campusStudy ProgramsJapanese ImmersionA cross cultural experience Intensive Japanese StudyOther Information and Programs*For program details and program periods, please refer to the List of Off-campus StudyPrograms on the following page.*Please check the Academic Office website for the latest information.167
