a) Instructional Delivery ModelLaurus College provides online and hybrid instruction that reflect an innovative deliverymodel. Instruction is delivered over the Internet through a synchronous and asynchronouse-learning platform using Moodle (Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic LearningEnvironment) learning management system (LMS). Hybrid instruction combines onlinewith face-to-face and/or kinetic modalities.The class lecture delivery uses synchronous instruction on computer screens across allcampuses. Teachers use this method to engage the learner through visual, auditory, andkinetic modalities. Teachers can instruct students across all four campuses and online atthe same time. This innovative approach has been used for over 10 years.These delivery models, hybrid and online, allow for flexibility in student scheduling,expanded course offerings, and greater commitment to successful completion of coursesand programs. Distance education courses are delivered over the Internet through asynchronous and asynchronous e-learning platform using Moodle (Modular ObjectOriented Dynamic Learning Environment) learning management system (LMS). Moodlesupports the virtual classroom. In addition to Moodle, the online courses use AdobeConnect, which supports the online classroom through synchronous live classroomlectures and labs. Adobe Connect allows for three-way communication betweeninstructor and a class of students, among students, and between an instructor and anindividual student. Features of Adobe Connect include recording of live classroomsessions and online group work by allowing the students in a live session to work insmaller breakout rooms. The student will benotified of the dismissal and will receive official notification by mail of the dismissal.The student may appeal the dismissal with the Chancellor up to the final day of the firstweek of classes for the following term.If a student is academically dismissed and wishes to return to the college the studentneeds to submit a request for reentry to the Chancellor.
