NCCwebsite.org 2CORE NPEXAMINATIONREGISTRATIONCATALOGRecognition, Value, Expertise. It is what certification is all about!ABOUT CERTIFICATIONCertification is a process to validate, based upon predetermined standards, a professional’sknowledge for safe and effective practice in a specialty or defined subspecialty. The NationalCertification Corporation (NCC) believes that what makes a credentialed health care provider differentis the willingness of the individual to be accountable for his/her knowledge and to take the risk ofundergoing a third-party review of their knowledge. Professionals, who hold an NCC specialtyor subspecialty certification, make a difference in the lives of their patients. They are uniqueprofessionals who have made the commitment to lifelong learning, patient advocacy andprofessional practice.Over 195,000 health care professionals have been certified in Neonatal, Obstetric, Gynecologicand Women’s Health through the National Certification Corporation, demonstrating an ongoingcommitment to practice. Core certifications for the registered nurse (RNC) validate to patients, families, peers, employers and the public, the RN’s specialty knowledge of nursing care of the hospitalizedpatient. Core certification for the Advanced Practice Registered Nurse validates readiness to providecore knowledge-based care to critically ill neonates (NNP-BC ) or to women with needs in the Obstetric,Gynecologic and Primary Care areas (WHNP-BC ). Subspecialty certifications (C-EFM ,C-NPT , C-NNIC,C-ONQS, and C-ELBW) validate the special knowledge and experience required in these focused areasof specialty practice.TABLEOFCONTENTSEligibility Criteria. 3Resources for Exam Candidates. 4Fees.5 - 6Steps to Register for Computer Testing. 7Application Checklist.8 - 9Administrative Policies.10 - 12General Policies.13 - 15Content Outline for Exams. 16About NCC. 17Bulk Purchase Program for Institutions. 18 2022 The National Certification Corporation (NCC) All Rights Reserved.NCC nurse practitioner certification programs are accredited by both the Accreditation Boardfor Specialty Nursing Certification (ABSNC) and the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA).
