Reboot -- ABC’s of CAP What does CAP mean: who are we? Raising awareness and educating others about child abuse preventiono To learn from each other, to learn about each other’s’ agencies, tocome together and raise awareness statewide on a unified frontWhere we’ve been: Why are we here? Please see the CAP Timeline provided with agenda Drawing awareness to the public health crisis of child abuse and neglectLooking Ahead Strategic Plan Work – more to come New Ideas Blue Ribbon Tree – Data & Plans: John Delara The Blue Ribbon Tree for Kids Campaign began 13 years ago in Oklahomao In 2018 – started collecting data:1. Highest participation was Oklahoma County – 33%2. Highest location was area businesses – 55%3. Areas for improvement on outreach: Outside of Oklahoma County Childcare centers Faith-based groups Local municipalities and librarieso How can we improve:1. Encourage others to register2. Figure out how we can get others to registero Send “invitation to participate” emails personally to each person’sdistribution lists (connections) instead of one person sending outa mass email. Each individual can put their personal spin on thecontents and it is more personal.o Possibly have certain people in each county collect registrationsthen send them into OSDH/FSPS Create online registration:o Makes for easier processo Senders must submit photos with registration at same time, keeping all contents together Brainstorm 2020 Ideas 90by30 Initiative: Located in Lane County, Oregon: Trying to reduce ChildAbuse by 90% by 2030. (Webinar)o There are three aspects of the Initiative1. Children who are connected are protected.(If a child is connected with home visiting, a church, orschool they are more likely to be protected.)2. Support Families3. Community members take positive action.o For more information visit: https://90by30.com/Outreach to other counties to increase statewide participation –

o Share information for video conferencing with all counterpartsthat work in the counties i.e. Child Guidance Staff, C1 Staff with allcounterparts that work in the counties i.e. Child Guidance Staff,C1 Staff. Have clear instruction on how to connect If we are going to invite other counties, we need to narrowdown what we want them to do – either watch a link andhave feedback or actively participate.o Possibly have meetings in other locationso Create a generic template that members can share. Leave spacesfor them to add their personal information and contact info.Template for churches, child guidance, DHS, etc. and others it canbe more relatable.
