MEET YOUR TEACHERS!

HI, I’M COACHPAGIAZITIS!I have a background in strengthand conditioning and all barbellsports!I compete in powerlifting,Crossfit, and weightlifting. Myspecialty is building strength andpower. I have certifications tocoach powerlifting, Olympicweightlifting, mobility, kids, andnutrition.I hold the NY state record forhighest total in my weight class,725lbs. at 128lbsI love my two cats, Loca and ZsaZsa, they are the BEST in theentire universe.I have a degree in EnglishLiterature- so I like to read alot! Tell me all about yourfavorite books!I love to travel and somecountries I have been to areChina, the United Arab Emirates,Morocco, and Greece.

CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS

WHERE TO MEET YOURCLASS:Most classes will meet in the cafeteria.Please enter and exit the cafeteria at alevel 1 as other classes may be going onand we do not want to disrupt them.If we are not in the cafeteria, we will beoutside. Look for a notice on myclassroom door and the cafeteria door.

COVID-19 & MASK POLICY: Remember, it is for YOUR safety and the safety of others aroundyou, that you must wear your mask at all times indoors. Once we are outside, and 6 feet apart from each other, you mayremove your mask. If you must ask your teacher a question and must come closerthan 6 feet from us, please put your mask back on!

Due to limited bathroom arrangements, we will not bechanging out this year.2. ATTIREStudents must wear shoes appropriate for P.E. this semester.Inability to participate due to improper shoes will result in aconsequence.Long hair must be tied back and ladies and gentleman mustboth wear sneakers with socks. Please bring pants and asweater on colder days. Hats and gloves are only acceptableoutdoors and must be removed indoors due to dress code.Please do not wear jewelry, it can get broken or lost or injuresomeone, which becomes a liability.

3. HYGIENE Please wear deodorant! Please wash your uniform clothes daily! As always, we will have a stash of aerosol deodorant in her cabinet. If you forget your orneed extra, just ask! Also, if you want to leave some here for your personal use, we canput your name on it and you can use it when you need to. *Deodorant is for hygienepurposes, not to be used as a football or item to be tossed or thrown across the roomOR sprayed on someone else as a joke. They may have allergies to scents or chemicals.Respect the privileges if you want to keep them!

4. OUTSIDE GUIDELINES/CLASS STRUCTURE We will address the warmup which will involve dynamic and staticstretches (5 min) We will go over the essential question, objective, and “I Will,You Will,We Will” mission, and go over the stations and/or game of the day. We will have practice either individually or in small groups (5-10 min.) As a class, we will piece together the elements and play the game as awhole unit or two units depending on class size and concept (10-15min) We will line back up and dismiss according to grade level** new policy.

OUTSIDE RULES: Be respectful of each other- this includes personal space. Always maintain a 6 foot distance between yourself andothers. Be respectful of equipment. If something gets damaged, let us know right away. If something is intentionally damaged,it is considered defacing school property and you will be responsible for replacing it. You must sign out to go to the bathroom and to go get water- only 1 person goes at a time. Do not take it uponyourself to walk out of the class without asking. This is a safety issue. You must participate. There will be no sitting during P.E.- Period.Your grade is determined through assessment ofphysical activity. If you do not move, I can not give you a grade and you will fail. If you can not agree to this, we canswitch you to another elective. No fighting! Demonstrate sportsmanship- Show leadership skills even in losing. Encourage each other! Try something new! HAVE FUN!

WHISTLE COMMANDS!1 Whistle means STOP or START!2 Whistles means SWITCH directions or stations3 Whistles means class is over and it is time to line up to go back inside!

INSIDE RULES: We will have to stay inside on very rainy days, and every Wednesdaywe will remain inside for our weekly HEALTH lesson. In the cafeteria, ALL backpacks will be placed against the wall.Outside, all backpacks will be lined up against the wall. There will be apredetermined section for each grade level, which will make it easierto dismiss. All you will need is a pen/pencil and a notebook toparticipate. If technology is required, we will let you know ahead oftime so that you may bring your own, or we can provide it for you. You MUST BRING YOUR OWN WATER! There will be no fountains. Respect peers and staff at all times.

INSIDE GUIDELINES We will assign each student a number and you will write this number in youragenda. This is important for data purposes. Do not lose it! You will be broken down into squad lanes in which to sit inside theclassroom/cafeteria.These will be your teammates for the semester and groupprojects so be nice and get to know each other. Each squad will have its owncolor so if “red squad” is called and that is your team, you all move together.Youmust maintain social distancing in your squad lanes. Sound level 0 during instruction at all times unless we are playing a game. You must raise your hand to speak. No shouting out. Only 1 person speaks at a time.

LEAVING THE CLASSROOM You must ask Coach P or Coach Houser for permission to leave the area we are workingin. You must present your bathroom pass to be signed. You may not leave the class to use the restroom without permission. Doing so will beconsidered skipping.

TRANSITIONS/HALLWAYS It must absolutely be a level 0 during hallway transition to going outside. Whether we aregoing to field or car loop, the expectation is always, always, ALWAYS, a level 0. There areother classes in session that we must not disturb. If we can not make it down the hallwayquietly, we can spend the rest of the period practicing going through the halls quietly.

MEDICAL EXCUSES Any medical excuse for an extended period of time must be obtained by a doctor.Student’s will show the doctor’s note to the teacher who will sign it and the student willbe responsible for alternative educational health or P.E. related assignments during classtime. If you get sick upon entering the class, or during class, you must get dressed first andthen you may report to the nurse. ALL injuries that occur during class must be reported immediately!

FIREDRILL/CODERED PROTOCOLCode Red: Everyone must get into hardcorner. Level 0 noise. Door will be locked.If you are out on a bathroom trip, you areto stay in bathroom stall with feet up.Fire Drill: Lineup and follow faculty toassigned meeting place.
