Each school has different admissions requirements. Allinterested students must complete an online application. Dual applications are only accepted for students interested in BergenCounty Academies, Hackensack and Bergen County Technical High School, Teterboro. Dual applications are not accepted forstudents interested in applying to Bergen County Technical High School, Paramus, Applied Technology High School @ BCC,or Institute for Interactive Design Technology at Northern Valley HS.See Table of Contents below for further information and site addresses for each school. Once the student completes theonline application, the last step in the application process is for the student to print 2 copies of their School Transcript Form,Recommendation Forms and their Case Manager Form if applicable. Each form will be pre-printed with instructions includingthe School Applying To, Student Name, Town of Residence and Student Application ID#. Keep one copy for your records.The student must give the Transcript Form (signed by a parent/guardian) to their Counselor/Supervisor and theirRecommendation Forms to teachers. Students who have an IEP or a 504 plan must give their Child Study Team the CaseManager Form. The Case Manager must follow the instructions on the form. Please be advised, for security purposes, theSchool Counselor’s and Teacher’s Site address (above) is not posted on any student forms and will not be given to students/parents/guardians.Note: The School Counselor’s and Teacher’s Site will log you out after 30 minutes of no activity. No one but you can view yourdata. All records are held in strict confidence and only shared with the Admissions Committee for the Bergen County TechnicalSchools. Before you enter the site, please read and decide your Role Category:Role as Counselor: Counselor/Supervisor only has access to upload the Transcript Forms, Report Cards, enter AttendanceRecords and Standardized Test Scores and PARCC results. For Counselors/Supervisors uploading documents and entering datais optional. If you choose to mail, please mail one set of all records to the school (address is on the top of the School Transcriptform). If possible, please mail or upload all records when the 1st marking period of the 8th grade is over, including thesigned Transcript Form. Whether you choose to go online or mail, please do not duplicate.Role as Counselor/Teacher: Counselor/Teacher has access to upload Transcript Forms and Report Cards, enter AttendanceRecords and Standardized Test Scores and PARCC results. However, uploading documents and entering data is optional (seeRole as Counselor). This role also includes access to all Teacher Recommendations which must be completed online (see Role asTeacher). Recommendations do not have to be printed or mailed. Only select this role if you are a Counselor/Supervisor and aTeacher in (English, Math or Science) or you currently teach more than one course (English, Math, or Science) to the student(s)applying.Role as Teacher - English, Math or Science: Teachers are required to complete all Recommendation Forms online, and onlyhave access to the Recommendation in the course role they teach or taught to the student(s) applying. Completedrecommendations do not have to be printed or mailed.Case Managers: The IEP or 504 plan Case Manager MUST email Mr. Jon Bercovici, our School Social Worker, the student’sCase Manager form along with supporting documents by the application deadline December 12, 2019 to jonber@bergen.org.PLEASE DO NOT upload the Case Manager form or supporting documents on the School Counselor and Teacher’s site.Before you begin your registration, please read the following:Every school year we begin with a new database; therefore, all users must register annually regardless if you haveregistered in previous years. Due to the sensitivity of the Counselor Teacher Site, we prefer that you use your schoolemail address. If you register with an unfamiliar email address, we may contact you by email or call to verify yourinformation before we activate your registration.Register: This applies to all users for the school year 2019-2020. Once you are in the site, (address on top of page one), click“Register” on the left panel. Enter all requested information. Enter a user name and a password (password must be 6 characters),please remember to write down your user name and password. In the drop-down menu, select your Role (see Role Category).Please make sure you enter the correct Role and Grade Teaching. When you have completed your registration, before you cancontinue, you must read and check “Accept Terms and Conditions” then click “Register”. When you have completed yourregistration, you will receive a message on the screen, and an email stating that your status is pending. Your registration will beactivated within 24 hours on regular business days. Once your information has been verified by Admissions, you will receive asecond email stating that your status is active. You may then begin to use the site.Your First Login: Enter your user name and password. Click on left panel “Search my Students”. You will be required only onthe first time login to enter your school information (drop down listed alpha by town). If your school is not on the drop-downlist, please select Bergen County Academies (Hackensack). If you are a counselor, email us the name, address and phonenumber of your school; if you are a teacher, please write the name and address of your school on the first line of therecommendation box. Once you have selected your school click “Save and Continue” (this will bring you back to the Homepage), click on left panel “Search My Students”. Look on the top of the student’s form and enter the 5-digits STUDENTAPPLICATION ID # and select whichever option relates to you (upload, scores or recommend) ; see sample . Information about “Search My Student” & “My Data”You have the option to go back and edit your information (go to “Search My Students” or “My Data”). Always rememberto SAVE after every entry & upload. “Recommendation data have been updated” will appear in red. My Data: This page will bring you to your name, school, and all your student records that you have entered. The firstsection you will see on the top of this page is your name and school information. Go directly to “My Scores” or “MyRecommendations”. Find your student and edit if needed. Counselors can only edit “My Scores”, enter test scores andupload. Teachers can only edit “My Recommendations”. If you are registered as a Counselor/Teacher you have access toedit all records.
