Score Choice OverviewDesigned to reduce student stress and improve the test-day experience, Score Choice is a score-reportingfeature that gives students the option to choose the SAT scores by test date and SAT Subject Test scores byindividual test that they send to colleges, in accordance with each institution’s stated score-use practice . ScoreChoice is optional, and if students choose not to use it, all scores will be sent automatically .Different colleges use test scores in different ways, and we recognize that a one-size-fits-all approach to collegeadmissions does not reflect the diverse needs of colleges and universities . The College Board has enabledparticipating colleges to display their SAT score-use practices directly to students on collegeboard .com . Thisinformation will be presented at the time that students are asked to send scores .Students will be encouraged to follow the score-reporting requirements of each college to which they apply,but their scores will not be released for admission purposes without their specific consent . Colleges anduniversities will only receive the scores that students send them .In order to help students make an informed choice about the scores they send, we’ve collected SATscore-use practices from every college, university or scholarship program that chose to provide uswith the requested information.Please note:1 .The SAT score-use practices referenced in Score Choice materials are based on information providedto us by only participating colleges or scholarship programs .2 .The description of a particular SAT score-use practice might not include every aspect of how aninstitution or program uses a student’s score . Additionally, SAT score-use practices for a particularcollege or scholarship program may change periodically and may not be automatically updated inthe score-reporting system . Therefore, we recommend that students check with the collegeor scholarship program to which they are sending SAT scores to confirm its SAT score-usepractice for the academic year for which they plan to apply.3

Feel free to send anyadditional scores that you want to make available to University X .Highest Section Scores Across Test Dates — Version 2(Highest M, CR, W) University X has indicated that it considers your highest sectionscores across all SAT test dates that you submit. Only your highestsection scores will be considered as part of the final admissionsdecision. Each time you submit scores, University X will update yourrecord with any new high scores. University X strongly encourages you to submit your scores eachtime you take the SAT. Sending your scores each time you take theSAT can benefit you by allowing University X to consider you for allavailable enrollment-related opportunities.Single Highest Test Date — Version 1(Sum of M CR W) University X has indicated that it considers the SAT scores fromyour single highest test date (the sum of mathematics, critical readingand writing). Feel free to send any additional scores that you want tomake available to University X .Single Highest Test Date — Version 2 (Sum of M CR W) University X has indicated that it considers the SAT scores fromyour single highest test date (sum of M CR W). Only your highestscores will be considered as part of the final admissions decision. Eachtime you submit scores, University X will update your record withany new high scores.
