A key underlyingassumption supporting projected growth will require continuation of current formula funding with increases toaccommodate for inflation percentages.TSTC-Marshall will grow as a recognized residential technical college of high quality drawing unserved andunderserved participants from a continually expanding geographic area. Development of an array of servicesand activities to promote comprehensive personal/educational development of students will requireexpanded funding and, within five years, a 5 million investment in a student center facility. In response to workforce demand, TSTC-Marshall will regularly establish new programs and servicestargeted to supply industry demands in advanced and emerging technologies and priority demandoccupations. Launching of new programs will require significant funding. New programs in fields not alreadyestablished often require funding in excess of 1 million. New degrees and certificates that are spun off ofexisting programs typically carry a price tag of 300,000. Projected cost for addition of one new program andtwo spin-off degrees per year will be 1.6 million annually.TSTC-Marshall will employ efficiencies of scale to maximize use of facilities through creative scheduling, shared usage, and night and weekend class and program scheduling. However, to accommodate projectedgrowth over the next 15 years, new facilities must be funded and constructed.TEXAS STATE TECHNICAL COLLEGE-WACOCASPER (Center for Astrophysics, Space Physics andEngineering Research-an interdisciplinary space sciencepartnership between Baylor University and TSTC WacoTEXAS STATE TECHNICAL COLLEGE-WEST TEXASE-9National Science Foundation and/or NASA
