To assist you the District compiled this resource of scholarships available to Yonkers students.Community organizations and individuals that believe in Yonkers young adults and want them to excel incollege sponsor the scholarships in this booklet. The organizations will make the final determination as toaward recipients, but there are countless other opportunities available to graduating seniors. Therefore, it isnot only important for you to carefully review this booklet with your parents/guardians, but you should alsodirectly confer with school counselors regarding additional scholarships accessible on a national and statebasis. School counselors will also guide you through the diverse forms of financial aid assistance.The Naviance program (www.naviance.com/) is a useful tool for college and scholarship searches and, moreimportantly, the completion of online scholarship applications. ACTUARIAL DIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIPThe Actuarial Diversity Scholarship promotes diversity within the profession through an annual scholarshipprogram for Black/African American, Hispanic/Latino, Native North American and Pacific Islanderstudents. SCHOLARSHIPSThe Association of Hispanic Professionals, Inc. is once again offering scholarships to successful studentswho plan to attend college or other institutions of higher learning. Applicants must be of Hispanic descent.In order to be considered, student must include a full package, including application form, transcript, SATscores, recommendations and a copy of the SAR or FAFSA to ascertain financial need.
