Adult students can complete worktoward a high school diploma, or gain confidence in theirAdult Basic Education (ABE) skills to prepare for the General Education Development (GED) test. Antioch Adult Education also offers a comprehensive program in English as aSecond Language (ESL) for students at beginning levelsthrough advanced fluency.At Antioch Adult Education, you can obtain valuable jobskills in office protocols, including English for the workplace and computer skills. In addition, we also offer a program in culinary arts and will soon be offering programs inwelding and drone design and development.AdmissionCourses are open to adults 18 years of age or over, at all educational backgroundsand cultural heritages. There is open enrollment in most classes. Antioch AdultEducation provides access to all qualified disabled persons.Fees & TextbooksPrograms authorized by the State of California are partially or fully supported bytaxes. All other classes and programs are self-supporting. The entire cost of instructors’ salaries, use of facilities and operations, and clerical and administrativesupport is built into the fee structure. Every effort has been made to minimize thefees.Laboratory FeesIn classes where instructional materials are provided or additional expensesare incurred by the school, a laboratory fee is charged. All fees are payable atthe time of registration.RefundsNO REFUNDS will be made to students who voluntarily withdraw from a class inwhich they have enrolled.

Campus PoliciesState law prohibits the use of tobacco and cannabis products anywhere on theschool grounds. Antioch Adult Education cannot be responsible for childrenattending adult classes with their parents. Please make other child-care arrangements. Antioch Adult Education DOES provide limited baby-sitting services on a first-come-first serve basis for ESL students .Advisor ServicesAdvisor services are available for all Adult Education students pursuing highschool diplomas or high school equivalency certificates (GED or HiSET).Please come in and set up an appointment. Most classes are open entry-openexit so that, unless the classes are full, new enrollments are acceptedthroughout the entire semester. Advisor services are available for CareerEducation and English as a Second Language.Class CancellationsClasses may be cancelled under the following circumstances: If, by the second meetings, there are not more than 12 students present If student attendance drops below 10For Additional Information, please call : (925) 779-7490

Morning and Afternoon classes are available forstudents who are 18 years old or older.Complete the classes you need to earn yourdiploma.Learn the necessary skills to successfullycomplete the GED or HST.Learn basic skills such as reading and mathto help you pass the employment eligibilitytests or prepare for High School Equivalency.

Wecannot order transcripts on your behalf, you must order ityourself. Make sure to have a copy saved at home. Uniform Complaint ProceduresThe Governing Board recognizes that theDistrict has primary responsibility for insuring that it complies with State and Federal Laws and Regulations governing educational programs. The District shall investigate and seek to resolve complaints atthe local level. The District shall followuniform complaint procedures when addressing complaints alleging unlawful discrimination or failure to comply with Stateor Federal Law in Adult Basic Education,and Special Education Programs.Filing of ComplaintAny individual, public agency, or organization may file a written complaint of allegednoncompliance. The complaint shall be presented to the Superintendent or designee,who will then give it to the appropriatecompliance officer. The Superintendent ordesignee will maintain a log of complaintsreceived, providing each with a code number and a date stamp. If a complainant isunable to put a complaint in writing due toconditions such as illiteracy or other handicaps, District staff shall help him/her to filethe complaint.HarassmentThe District is committed to providing aneducational environment free of harassment and unlawful discrimination. TheDistrict maintains a strict policy prohibiting harassment and differentiated treatment of students because od sex, race,religious creed, color, national origin, ancestry, physical handicap, medical condition, marital status, age, or any other basisprotected by Federal, State, or local law,ordinance ,or regulation. All Such harassment is unlawful. The District’s policy ofanti-harassment toward students appliesto students enrolled in the District and allpersons employed by the District.
