Last September, Liberty opened a food pantry inthe Liberty School building that is designed to servestudents in all grades.Second Harvest Food Bank has suggested tomost school systems with in-school food pantries thatthis be the source for food for students, replacing thebackpack project. So, for the 2019-2020 school year, wewill not be packing bags of food for the children.Sharon Wathen assists the school by orderingthe food for the pantry at the school and making surethat food is delivered as it is needed. At the beginning, the school pantry served about 30 children. By May of2019, that number was up to almost 150 children. It isexpected that the traffic in the school pantry willincrease throughout the new school year.Funds have been provided by the Girard LibertyRotary and some individual donors for the school pantry.Roger MorrisLarry AsayAnthony WolfeNancy KovalchikEliana SlifkaPriscilla HeckerKaren GrimmMarlene FlickingerBetty Drennen, William KepkoValerie HarveyCatherine DunlapGeorge Marsh, Roseann MyersThayne Albrecht, Charity WashingtonDorothy SheaFind us on FacebookSearch Church Hill United Methodist Church 44505MANY THANKS to the dozens of volunteersELECTRONIC GIVINGSCAN the QR code to the rightTEXT 330-694-7153 ORGO TO www.ChurchHillumc.comClick on Online Giving and follow the steps.from Church Hill who have helped with theBackpack Project over the past five years.
