(a) These rales may be called the Railway Protection Force (Second Amendment) Rules, 1996(b) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.2. In the Railway Protection Force Rules, 1987, for rule 49.2, the following shall be substituted, namely :—"49.2 Direct recruitment to the posts of Constables shall be made .by a departmental committee of three SecurityCommissioners nominated by the Chief Security Commissioner of the Zonal Railway or Railway Protection Special Force asthe case may be."[File No. 96/Sec. In the Railway Protection Force Rules, 1987, under Schedule-IV relating to Appointments and Promotions, underthe column "Sub-Inspector (Fire) against Item No. 3 relating to educational and technical qualification", for the existing entry,the following entry shall be substituted, namely :—"must have passed graduation in Science with Chemistry as one of the subjects from a recognised university orequivalent and passed Sub-Officers' Course from the National Fire Service College or its equivalent diploma in FireFighting.ormust have passed graduation in Science with Chemistry as one of the subjects. Selected candidates will have to passthe Sub-Officers' Course from the National Fire Service College 0 its .equivalent diploma in the science of FireFighting within a period of 5 years. The admission for the said course will be arranged by the Railway Board.
