Eligibility forexamination is determined by the Board.The Board has contracted with PSI Services LLC (PSI) toconduct the Georgia Psychology Jurisprudence Examination.PSI provides examinations through a network of computerexamination centers in Georgia.The examination isdeveloped through a collaboration of PSI and the GeorgiaState Board of Examiners of Psychologists to meet local aswell as national requirements in basic principles andexamination development standards.HOW TO OBTAIN A LICENSE1.2.Candidates should contact the Georgia State Board ofExaminers of Psychologists to request an application forlicensure.Board staff will process the application for licensure andwill notify candidates once they have been approved forthe examinations.a. The EPPPIn addition to meeting other Board requirements,candidates for licensure are required to pass theEPPP before sitting for the Georgia PsychologyJurisprudence Examination.The following fee table lists the applicable fee for theexamination. The fee is for each registration, whether youare taking the examination for the first time or reexamination. Please be advised that children, cell phones, pagers,cameras, programmable electronic devices andrecording devices of any kind are NOT allowed to enterPSI testing centers. Additionally, NO personal itemsare to enter the testing centers. PSI will not beresponsible for any personal items, and suggests thatyou leave such items in another safe place, of yourchoosing. No smoking, eating, or drinking will be allowed at theexamination site. You may not exit the building during the examination. Copying or communicating examination content is aviolation of PSI security policy and the State Law.Either one may result in the disqualification ofexamination results and may lead to legal action.TAKING THE EXAMINATION BYCOMPUTERTaking the PSI examination by computer is simple. You donot need any computer experience or typing skills. You willuse fewer keys than you use on a touch-tone telephone. Allresponse keys are colored and have prominent characters. Anillustration of the special keyboard is shown here. You mayalso use the mouse.REPORTING TO THE EXAMINATIONSITEOn the day of the examination, you should arrive at least 30minutes before your appointment. This extra time is for signin and identification. If you arrive late, you may not beadmitted to the examination site and you will forfeit yourexamination registration fee.REQUIRED IDENTIFICATION AT EXAMINATION SITEYou must provide 2 forms of identification. IMPORTANT: After you have entered your responses, you willlater be able to return to any question(s) and change yourresponse, provided the examination time has not run out.PRETEST ITEMSIn addition to the number of questions per examination, asmall number of five to ten “pretest” questions may beadministered to candidates during the examinations. Thesequestions will not be scored and the time taken to answerthem will not count against examination time.Theadministration of such non-scored experimental questions isan essential step in developing future licensing examinations.EXAMINATION REVIEWIDENTIFICATION SCREENYou will be directed to a semiprivate testing station to takethe examination. When you are seated at the testing station,you will be prompted to confirm your name, identificationnumber, and the examination for which you are registered.PSI, in cooperation with the Georgia State Board of Examinersof Psychologists, will be consistently evaluating theexamination being administered to ensure that theexamination accurately measures competency in the requiredknowledge areas. While taking the examination, examineesmay submit comments on any questions, by pressing the BLUEcomments key on the keyboard. These comments will beanalyzed by PSI examination development staff. PSI does notrespond to individuals regarding these comments, but allsubstantive comments are reviewed. This is the only reviewof examination materials available to candidates.SCORE REPORTINGTUTORIALBefore you start your examination, an introductory tutorial tothe computer and keyboard is provided on the computerscreen. The time you spend on this tutorial, up to 15minutes, DOES NOT count as part of your examination time.Sample questions are included following the tutorial so thatyou may practice using the keys, answering questions, andreviewing your answers.A scaled score of 70 is required in order to pass the GeorgiaPsychology Jurisprudence Examination.One question appears on the screen at a time. During theexamination, minutes remaining will be displayed at the top ofthe screen and updated as you record your answers. Your score will be given to you immediately followingcompletion of the examination. The following summarydescribes the score reporting process:EXAMINATION QUESTION EXAMPLEDuring the examination, you should press 1, 2, 3, or 4 toselect your answer or press “MARK” to mark it for laterreview. You should then press “ENTER” to record youranswer and move on to the next question. A sample questiondisplay follows: On screen – your score will appear immediately on thecomputer screen. xGeorgia Psychology Laws and Psychology Board Ruleslocated atwww.sos.ga.gov/plb/psychxGeneral Licensing Provisions, laws that apply to alllicensees and are located .VETERAN PREFRENCE POINTS1.2.3.Georgia law (General Provisions Volume 30, Title 43-1-9(1)(2)(3)) provides that veterans meeting certainconditions are eligible for the addition of five or tenpercentage points to their examination scores.To qualify, veterans must have served for a minimum ofone year in active duty status, and must have servedduring a period of conflict or war for a minimum of 90days.
