OFFICE OF CHILDREN’S SERVICESADMINISTERING THE CHILDREN’S SERVICES ACTREGIONAL AND STATEWIDE TRAINING REGARDING CSAThe Children’s Services Act(CSA, §2.2-5200 et seq) wasenacted in 1993 to create acollaborative system ofservices and funding for atrisk youth and families.The CSA establishes localmultidisciplinary teamsresponsible to work withfamilies to plan servicesaccording to each child’sunique strengths and needsand to administer thecommunity’s CSA activities.Annual Report to the General Assembly, December 2016In accordance with 2016 Appropriation Act, Chapter 780, Item 285 (B)(6)The mission of the Office of Children’s Services (OCS) is to facilitate acollaborative system of services and funding that is child-centered, family-focused, and community based when addressing the strengths and needs ofyouth and their families in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
