Each year we are pleased to welcome leaders fromdiverse nations who choose to join in this leadership forum toprepare themselves for becoming a part of the solution to theleadership crisis seen throughout our world. Our theme this year,“Discovering and Refining your Leadership Gift,” taps into the heartof leadership concepts. I am convinced that trapped within everyfollower is an undiscovered leader, and this leadership potential istied to an individual’s personal leadership gift. During this Summit,we will address, explore, and ignite this vast untapped potential,which is hidden in every individual.True leadership goes far beyond the mechanics of most of theapproaches that pervade our leadership programs today. Why? Trueleadership is simply self-manifestation. While many philosophies ofleadership hold that leadership is for an elite group, the anatomyof the human spirit reveals that every individual was created anddesigned with a seed of influence on the inside of them. This seedmust be exposed and manifested to the world. It is the assignmentof every human being to find and refine their leadership gift tobecome agents of change in the world.This week you will hear presentations on leadership principlesand concepts, which have often been lost in the sea of misguidedmodern leadership philosophies. The men and women of ourSummit faculty are both excellent speakers and examples ofdynamic agents of change. Also, with every fellow Summit delegateyou meet this week, remember that you are connecting to anotherindividual designed to be a leading success. He was licensed to preach at age 17 andwas the pastor of a church at age 18. Dr. Horner earned several degrees at variousinstitutions, including the Theology Degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, the largest seminary in the world. In addition, he has done postgraduate studies in England at Manchester University and Cambridge University.In the past 46 years, Dr. Horner has ministered in all parts of the globe in morethan 100 countries. He served as the Dean of the School of Theology and Missionsat Oral Roberts University (ORU).
