ABOUT MSITMSIT (MS in IT or Master of Science in Information Technology) is a two-year postgraduate program in Computer Science thatstarted in 2001. It is an innovative multi-university and interdisciplinary postgraduate program. The MSIT program is offered by the'Consortium of Institutions of Higher Learning' (CIHL), formed by the Universities and in collaboration with Carnegie MellonUniversity (CMU), Pittsburgh, USA.THE VISIONARYStudents are admitted to one of the Learning Centers at International Instituteof Information Technology (IIIT-H), Hyderabad, School of IT, Jawaharlal NehruTechnological University, Hyderabad (JNTUH), College of Engineering,Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada (JNTUK), JawaharlalNehru Technological University, Anantapur (JNTUA) and Sri VenkateswaraUniversity (SVU).The MSIT Program aims at shaping up students to bewell-rounded professionals, invoking their dormant capabilities through aconstant process of individual mentoring. The course follows a uniquepedagogy of learning by doing, which facilitates students to learn theory aswell as the practical nuances of foundation IT courses. Students also undertakea specialization in a particular domain in their second year of study. ADMISSION PROCEDURELearning CentreSeats Offered,,,,EligibilityB.Tech / B.E (All branches)The duration of this program is 2 yearsSpecializations: Computer Networks, E-business Technologies,Information Security, Software Engineering, Data Analytics & DataVisualization and Mobile Technologies.Admissions are based on scores obtained in the entrance test(GAT/GRE).Admissions are based on ranks obtained in the entrance test. In theMSIT Counseling 2018, candidates are asked to select learningcenters and they are allotted seats in rank order.Candidates admitted into IIITH & JNTUH will be given directadmission into MSIT main program. Candidates admitted intoJNTUK, JNTUA & SVU have to undergo a 4-week preparatoryprogram. After successful completion of the preparatory program,they will be admitted into the MSIT main program.FeeAnnual Fee Rs. 2,00,000/- ( IIITH )Annual Fee 1,70,000/- (JNTUH)Annual Fee Rs. 1,60,000/- (JNTUK, JNTUA & SVU)Admission FeeThose who get direct admission into the MSIT main program (IITH,JNTUH) should pay a non-refundable admission fee of Rs. 30,000/(part of annual fee) at the time of counseling.Preparatory FeeThose who obtain admission into the Preparatory program shouldpay a non-refundable fee of Rs. 10,000/- at the time of counseling.GATGraduate Aptitude Test (GAT) will be conducted by CIHL in twoways.One is walk-ins and the other one is regular entrance test.Candidates can appear either for walk-ins or regular entrance testOR both tests. Candidates can appear for the GAT for a maximum of4 times. Walk-ins can be attempted for a maximum of 3 times with agap of one week and the regular test (GAT) can be attempted once,on xed dates. The best of these two will be considered for therankings.1. Walk-ins:Candidates can attend the test on their convenient dates bybooking their slots online at www.msitprogram.net. The testwill be conducted in Hyderabad and Kakinada.2. Regular GAT: This is conducted on xed dates in 7 centers.(Hyderabad, Warangal, Vijayawada, Kakinada, Tirupati,Vishakhapatnam and Anantapur).Entrance test waivedGRE: Candidates who have taken the GRE after July, 2015 areexempted from the entrance test (GAT) if they have a score of301/3.5.How to Apply1.
