INTRODUCTIONIn October 2013, 4Patriots, LLC introduced anew product.It was very different from other products wehad developed, and it would be different fromothers we would offer through the years.From day one, it has been known as thePatriot Alliance Messenger.It has always been a full-color, 16-pagepublication designed to provide our customersand readers with information they can use intheir daily lives. The purpose has been mainlyto inform, but also to inspire and entertain.I launched the Patriot Alliance Messenger forseveral reasons. But if I had to pick just one,here’s what I’d say. I wanted to be a voice forpatriots who wish to see America return toher roots.Authority figures and government agencieswe’ve been told to trust – from the WhiteHouse to the Department of Justice tothe Internal Revenue Service to theEnvironmental Protection Agency to theTransportation Security Administration –have repeatedly let us down through thedecades with their wrong motives, dishonesty,overreach and plain old un-Americanbehavior.I wanted to speak out against that. I alsowanted to place usable information into yourhands in a timely fashion. Information aboutpreparedness and protecting your property,your possessions and your privacy.And I wanted to offer realistic steps youcan take to survive and thrive in the midstof government spying, privacy intrusions,a messed-up healthcare system and theshredding of the U.S. Constitution by thosewho have no sense of history and no respectfor our Founding Fathers.Well, we’ve now published more than 50editions of the Ultimate Survival Handbook. Canyou imagine what men such as GeorgeWashington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson,James Madison, Benjamin Franklin,Alexander Hamilton and John Jay wouldthink if they saw what the United States ofAmerica has become since the era whenthey risked their lives to establish the greatestcountry in world history?How do you think they would react if theysuddenly became aware that the preciousfreedoms that so many Americans havesuffered and died for through the years arebeing trampled upon by self-centered, selfrighteous politicians with about as much senseof history as a buzzing fly born yesterday?What do you think they would say if theyrealized that the U.S. government and itsagencies want to take away Americans’Second Amendment rights to bear arms, orlisten to Americans’ phone calls and readtheir emails with no warrants, or illegallytarget conservative groups because they don’tlike their politics, or strip away Americans’privacy rights, one after another?How would those heroic statesmen feelabout surveillance drones flying uncheckedoverhead, the genetically-modified food that’sbeing fed to millions, the Social Securitysystem that’s going broke, the vulnerableelectrical grid, and the new healthcare lawthat figures to bankrupt individuals, businessesand even the states themselves?

Butbecause of how much they loved this countrythat they founded, I don’t think they’d throwin the towel. Despite how bad things havegotten, I think they’d find like-minded peopleand start all over again.Well, that’s what I’ve decided to do. That’swhy I’ve launched the Patriot Alliance!Of course, I can’t do it alone. I need plentyof help. But I know that there are millions ofThat’s what the Patriot Alliance is all about.It’s about fulfilling the dream that was soperfectly spelled out by the Founding Fathersin the Declaration of Independence and theU.S. Constitution. It’s a mission to reclaim thefree America that we loved and were so proudof during our youth and young adulthood. It’sa quest to return government to what it wasmeant to be – a willing servant to the people,not a cruel and repressive taskmaster.Simply put, the Patriot Alliance is about reestablishing America as the great nation itonce was a shining beacon of freedom andhope for the world.Just as the late 1700’s was an exciting time tobe alive and be part of the formation of ourcountry, today is an exciting time as we try totake it back.Why We’re So Hated for Our SelfRelianceFROM THE MAY 2014 EDITIONWhat does it mean to be self-reliant?GENERAL TOPICSIt means different things to different people.Some folks have spent some of their timeand money stockpiling food and water for anemergency. They now know that no matterwhat kind of disaster they’re hit with, they’llbe able to feed themselves and their familyand have good, clean drinking water.Some homeowners have taken the huge stepof freeing themselves from a very vulnerableU.S. electrical grid and are now generatingtheir own electricity with solar panels andwind turbines. They feel empowered by thisindependence because not only does it allowthem to save money, but they can also keeptheir homes lit and either warm or cool whenpower outages occur.3
U LT I M A T E S U R V I V A L H A N D B O O K4Other people have achieved a level of selfreliance by growing their own vegetables andfruits using open-pollinated, non-geneticallymodified, heirloom seeds. Growing food inthe warmer months, storing some of it forcolder months and re-using seeds they’veharvested from last year’s crops makes themfeel confident that even when food pricessoar or food shortages occur, they and theirfamilies will be able to enjoy good tasting,nutritious and inexpensive food.For others, independence comes in theform of privacy. They’ve taken a number ofimportant steps to keep their identities safefrom thieves, their Internet browsing as freeas possible from observation and their emailaccounts safe from hacking. They’ve alsodone their best to maintain privacy in theirconsumer, medical and financial affairs. Theyfeel confident that they are unlikely to becomevictims of many of the privacy intrusions thathave plagued those who are less careful.To some, self-reliance takes the form of gunownership. These people follow the locallaws regarding their weapons and gain thenecessary training. They learn how to load,use and clean their guns, and they storethem properly and safely, out of the reach ofchildren and hidden from potential intruders.They choose appropriate places to keep theirguns out of sight yet easily accessible in casethey ever need them in a hurry.Of course, some people generate theirown electricity AND have food and waterstockpiled AND grow their own food AND
secure their family’s privacy AND own gunsto protect themselves and their families.They’re probably the most self-reliant peopleof all.Think for just a moment how much selfreliant people contribute to our society. Theytake pressure off the overtaxed and unreliableelectrical grid. They free up more food forpeople who can’t or don’t wish to stockpileit or grow their own. They reduce identitytheft. They protect law-abiding citizens fromlawbreakers. If the Founding Fathers werealive today, they would be handing out medalsto self-reliant people because that’s the spiritthat made this country great.But what’s happening instead?Self-reliant people are scorned and held upto ridicule. They’re portrayed as dangerouswackos. They’re mistrusted. They’re watchedclosely by various government agencies. Why?What possible reason could anyone haveto persecute people who consistently pullthemselves up by their bootstraps and takecare of their own needs and the needs of theirfamilies instead of sponging off society?There’s only one explanation for why lawabiding citizens who contribute so much tosociety are the subjects of harassment. Andthat reason is control. Some people just aren’thappy unless they can control those whowant nothing more than to live in peace.Unfortunately, those obsessed with controllingothers often wind up in positions of authority,where they frequently choose to make lifemiserable for others, just because they can.They can’t stand it when they see people whoare happily making it on their own.Self-reliant people, on the other hand, aremuch more difficult to control. They don’tneed or ask for government handouts. Theydon’t flock to FEMA centers when theirpower goes out. They don’t need food stampswhen food prices soar. They don’t back downfrom defending their families and property,meekly handing over their guns to criminalsand those who wish to rob them of theirSecond Amendment rights.There are a growing number of patriots inNorth America who understand that we areheaded in the wrong direction as a country.We sigh in disgust as our society teachespeople to rely on everyone but themselves.We cringe when we see how ill-prepared mostpeople are to handle even the slightest ofemergencies. We shake our heads in disbeliefas we hear politicians claim that stricter guncontrol laws will save lives when we know thatthe exact opposite is true.American patriots realize that the time iseventually going to come when only thosewho have learned to be self-reliant willsurvive. But that’s assuming we’re able tomaintain our independence in the face of asociety and a government that is increasinglyhostile toward us. If you’re not self-reliant,start working on getting there. If you’rehalfway there, get all the way there. If you’reall the way there, help others get there.Here’s my advice. Get off the electrical gridas much as possible by generating your ownpower. Stockpile as much non-perishablefood and water as you can afford. Grow yourown food if you can. Do whatever you can tomaintain your privacy. And figure out a wayto protect what is yours from invaders. That’sself-reliance, and that’s what will carry usthrough when times are tough.GENERAL TOPICSConsider this. When people are dependent onthe electrical grid, they can be controlled byan on/off switch. When people are dependentupon food stamps, they are dependent uponthe government that issues them. Whenpeople don’t grow their own food, they canbe controlled by those who produce and sellfood to them. When people don’t protect theirprivacy, they can be controlled by those whospy on them. And when people don’t ownguns, they can be controlled by those who do,including criminals.5
D-Day 70th Anniversary: A GrimRemembranceFROM THE JUNE 2014 EDITIONFriday, June 6, is the 70th anniversary ofone of the most significant days in UnitedStates history. The Allied forces’ invasion ofGerman-controlled Normandy on the coastof France in 1944 during World War II was apivotal mission in which some 12,000 Alliedtroops were killed or wounded.The landings occurred in two waves, withan airborne assault landing of 24,000 U.S.,British and Canadian airborne troops justafter midnight and then an amphibiouslanding of Allied infantry and armoreddivisions starting at about 6:30 a.m. Thecombination of a month-long campaign toconvince Hitler that the landings would occurelsewhere and a number of decoy landingshelped the Allies achieve an element ofsurprise.U LT I M A T E S U R V I V A L H A N D B O O KBut it was still very costly to the Allies, whotook their heaviest beating at Omaha Beach.Only two of the Allies’ 16 tanks survived thelanding, while 5,000 of the 50,000 Americanswho landed there wound up as casualties.6Ultimately, of course, the Allies weresuccessful in liberating France.In recent editions of the Patriot AllianceMessenger, I’ve encouraged readers to spendsome vacation time this year visiting patrioticdestinations.
