Flying Start resourcesThese resources have been compiled to support your learning as an NQPand to evidence this for your Flying Start portfolio and your professionalportfolio requirements. These resources can be used to document yourlearning throughout the first 12 months in practice and thereafter.The learning you undertake for Flying Start, can be used towards your NMCRevalidation and HCPC standards.Click on each document, it will open a fillable PDF document. Savethis to an appropriate place. This can then be printed, kept as anelectronic document and can also be uploaded to TURAS portfolio, touse towards Flying Start and professional portfolio requirements.Flying Start/Professional portfolioPortfolios can developed as:E-portfolios/TURAS professional portfolio (See Booklet 4)Electronic portfolio; orHard copyThis is individual choice as to how you choose to keep your portfolio. Self assessmentComplete the self assessment regarding the pillars of practice before youstart working through the Flying Start programme. Identify how confidentyou are in relation to each pillar. Be true to yourself when answering. NMC reflective templateFor nurses and midwives: This template is the mandatory reflective form,which you are required to use when undertaking reflections towards yourNMC revalidation. This template is suitable for you to use to undertakereflective activities to meet Flying Start Learning outcomes, where reflectionis required. Reflective templateFor all NQPs: This template is based on Gibbs 1998 model of reflection. Learning LogThis template can be used to document clinical activities and practiceundertaken (or that you may wish to undertake)/key learning points/supportrequired, if you have received feedback/allow you to relate the learning tothe pillars of practice and whether you have or wish to reflect on thislearning. Learning ActivityThis template can be used to document your learning. Use this alongsidethe learning log to record your learning activity. Feedback formThis template can be used to request feedback from your Line Managers,Flying Start facilitators, colleagues and peers. Working Styles QuestionnaireThis questionnaire can be used to help you identify and understand yourworking style and that of your colleagues.
