1.0 IntroductionWelcome to Harvest InstituteWe are delighted that you have decided to enroll forthe Harvest Institute Leadership course and lookforward to spending the year together as we seekto craft solutions to the leadership challenges thatface our nation, continent and the world.2.0 CourseStructureThe Leadership course at HarvestInstitute runs for a duration ofTwelve months starting in Januaryand ending in December. Lectures areconducted on a designated Saturdayonce every month in an intensive andinteractive learning environment.2

Lecture DatesBelow is the detailed schedule of the lecture dates for 2021.The 12 classes are divided into four physical classes and eightonline classes. Physical classes shall be held at the HarvestInstitute premises on the Worship harvest campus at Naalya,Kampala, Uganda. 2.2 Attendance of LecturesSince lectures are held only once a month and the dates arescheduled at the start of the year, it is your responsibility toplan your annual schedule to ensure that you attend all lecturesessions without fail. Each lecture hour will be divided into 40 minutes ofteaching, 10 minutes of responses and a 10minute break.2.5 Assessment Groups2.4 The Learning ApproachOur approach includes both traditional learning methods likelectures, discussions, assignments as well as experientiallearning where students will be asked to perform tasks or getThe class will be divided into several assessment groups. Eachgroup shall be headed under an assessor who will evaluatestudent progress and give necessary guidance throughout thecourse of the year. For easy coordination, the students will beadded to two Whatsapp groups: a general group for the 2021Intake and another for their given assessment group.5

3.0 Course Content & AssignmentsThe Harvest Institute Leadership Course is divided into four quarterly themes. 3.2 AssignmentsThe Leadership Course assignments are divided intotwo main categories namely:a. Monthly Assignmentsb. Year Long Assignments3.2.1 Monthly AssignmentsEvery month, you will be required to read at least twobooks. A list of the required reading for each modulecovered is detailed below. Please plan to acquireyour own copies of these books well in advance.You will receive a list of some of the books you canpurchase from the Institute.The students will be given two to three assignmentsto test their application of the concepts coveredin each module. The assignments will be in form ofa written synopsis, a group discussion and groupor individual activity focused on the students’application of what they have learned.Note: Assignments for each module will becommunicated at the end of every class day.8

3.2.2 SynopsisFor purposes of this course, a synopsis will be defined asa write up on the main theme of a given book and how thestudent intends to apply what they have learnt in theirleadership journey. Unless otherwise stated, each synopsismust have a minimum word count of 1200 and a maximum of1500. Please maintain the font and font size as Cambria 2.0 forall your assignments with a 2.0 spacing.3.2.3 Group Activity/DiscussionsFor some modules, your application of the concepts of aparticular book shall be evaluated through group activity/discussions. Time and structure of group discussions shallbe determined and communicated by the group assessor.Attendance and participation in all group activities/discussionsis compulsory.3.2.4 Written AssignmentsAll written assignments must be emailed to harvestinstitute@worshipharvest.org . Please ensure that your assessor is keptin copy of all emails you send to the Institute. Assignmentsmust be saved in this format: Student Name-ModuleAssignment (E.g. Amaria Atutaka-Module 1-2030 Letter).10

3.2.5 Late Submission PenaltyAll assignments sent in past 5pm East Africa Time on thesubmission date will be subject to a fine of UGX 50,000 forevery day that the assignment remains unsubmitted.3.3 Yearlong AssignmentsBelow is the full list of yearlong assignments; Failure to meetthe requirements for each of them will lead to a fail.3.3.1 Personal Growth AssignmentsAll leadership must start with self-leadership and personalgrowth. You will be required to demonstrate this through thetwo assignments below.Get Specific about Purpose, Strategy,Values (PSV)You will be required to start developing your PSV andto keep refining it throughout the course of the year.11

3.3.2 Influence in writingAs a leader, you must influence people across time and space.One of the best ways you can do this is through writing. You willbe required to demonstrate this influence in writing throughthe two assignments below.Write and Publish a bookYour book must meet the following criteria12 You can write about any topic of your choice. All expenses to do with the book are to be coveredby the student. You cannot self-edit your book. You must have aneditor.The book must be published before 3rd December2020Book Deadlines The book must have a minimum of 70 pages.DateYou must be the sole author. You cannot co-author.28th March 2021Book Title/TopicYou must follow internationally recognized citationmethods. 23.3.3 Social/community InfluenceWrite a BlogYou must write a blog at least once every fortnight.Please note that the indiscipline of writing 20 blogsin one night in November 2021 simply to meet therequirement will not be entertained. For every month,you must have written a minimum of two blogs.12Start a Neighborhood ConnectionInitiative and /or an Extended FamilyConnection Initiative.As a leader, your influence must be felt inyour immediate circle of connections be itfamily or neighborhood. This assignmentshall enable you to grow this influence.Start or Run a Discipleship Huddle orMissional Community.As a leader, you must be able to attractfollowers to a specific cause and in timemultiply your influence through them. Thistests your ability to influence people youaren’t paying.13

3.3.4 Events/travel/conferenceConferences stir us up to grow. Theyenable us to make connections withothers and teach us about planning andthe sacrifice of spending money in orderto pursue growth.Attend The Fearless Summit 2021in Nairobi in JuneYou must travel to Nairobi by air. Pleaseplan your travel and accommodationwell in advance. For all students livingin Kenya, you will be required to flyto Uganda by air for the Transformconference. The conference dates willbe communicated.Attend and Serve at Transform2020.The conference will take placein September. The dates will becommunicated.4.0 Tuition4.1 Tuition FeesThe tuition for the course is One Million, six hundredthousand Shillings (UGX 1,600,000).4.2 The Tuition Payment StructureAll successful candidates will be required to make a downpayment of UGX 600,000 before the first class on 9thJanuary 2021. 4.3 Tuition Installments FineFor every tuition installment deadline missed, a fine of UGX 100,000will be added to the Student’s tuition balance.4.4 Deadline for Final Payment of all FeesThe deadline for tuition payment is 31st July.4.5 Payment OptionsLeaders can either pay to the Institute bank account or the airtelMomo pay account. The Institute will not receive cash or mobilemoney payments. The Leaders are required to email a copy of theirpayment slip and any other authentic proof of payment to theInstitute (e.g. screenshots of momo pay transaction messages) beforea receipt is issued. Please maintain the same mail trail for all yourproof of payment under the subject Tuition Payment Slip. 5.0 Assessment ofAssignmentsAll assignments will be reviewed by the Group Assessors.Written assignments will be emailed to harvestinstitute@worshipharvest.org and the respective assessor must be keptin copy of all emails sent to the Institute. The Group Assessorswill give monthly feedback on all your assignments within 14days of submission. All assignments that need to be redone willbe under a two weeks window after which the late submissionpenalty will apply. The student is free to write to the Instituteif they do not receive assessment results with in the 14 dayswindow. This email should be addressed to the Registrar andsent to the Harvest Institute email address. Please keep thesubject as Delayed assessment Feedback for such emails.5.1 The Assignment Fail5.1.1 Monthly AssignmentsYou will have a fail in an assignment if the following happens;1. Failure to submit a written assignment2. Failure to attend a group discussion3. Failure to attend a lecture session4. Submission of a substandard written assignment havingbeen requested to re-do itIn order for you to graduate from the course, you shouldhave no more than 2 fails for both the monthly and yearlongassignments.5.1.2 Yearlong AssignmentsYou will have a fail in yearlong assignments if you do not meetall requirements stated in the Assignment Section 3.3.16

The following yearlong assignments cannot beamong your two fails: Write and publish a book Attend The Fearless Summit in Nairobi. You willbe required to travel by air. Attend and serve on a team at Transform 2020Write a Blog at least once every fortnightStart or Run a Discipleship Huddle or MissionalCommunity or Church Plant.The Leader will not graduate if he/she fails anyof the above yearlong assignments regardless ofwhether he or she has performed excellently inthe rest of the yearlong assignments and moduleassignments. These five yearlong AssignmentsCANNOT FEATURE among the Two Fails.17

6.0 Discontinuation6.1.2 Monthly AssignmentsA leader can only have a Maximum of Two Fails; any morefails will lead to discontinuation.6.1.3 Yearlong AssignmentsIf you fail any of the assignments listed in section 5.1.2 youwill be discontinued.6.2 Voluntary Discontinuation6.1 Grounds for Discontinuation6.1.1 Non- AttendanceYou can only miss a Maximum of Two Classes out of the 12Institute classes. If you miss more than two classes, you will bediscontinued. You will also be required to write to the institutebefore any class you are not able to attend to help us properlyplan logistics.18You may apply to leave the institute at any point during thecourse of the year. You must do it in writing (by email toharvestinstitute@worshipharvest.org) clearly stating thereasons for your exit.You will be required to clear all unpaid tuition fees.

7.0 Graduation RequirementsIn order to graduate you must have fulfilled the followingrequirements;1. Full payment of Tuition Fees.2. Must have attended a minimum of 10 classes.3. Must have a maximum of Two fails (module & yearlongassignments combined)4. Must have passed all the Pre-requisite assignments. A Published and Printed Book (A minimum of 70 pages) Attended Fearless Summit in Nairobi and traveled by air.A minimum of 22 blogsStarted a discipleship huddle or missional community orchurch plant.Attended and served on a team at Transform 202019
